Now, this was hard...
About this creation
And finally, after a long hiatus without anything new and SEVERAL weeks of work, I come with what, to this day, might be my biggest (and definetly hardest to make) creation!

Just so you can have an idea, I began making the first draft of this in June, and since them I lost count of how many times I had to build and rebuild parts of it. Of course, there were some travels and such who delayed this even more, but still, its the MOC I spent the most time working on, but(I hope) it paid off.

Anyways, into the MOC itself!

The legs. They're always my nightmare when it comes to giants, and this one was no exeption. Actually, I would say 70-80% of the time I took to make it was spent on the legs.

BTW, the red lights are supposed to be lasersz... (the green and orange ones are just front and back lights)

Because of the HUGE weight of the cockpit, it was really really furstating trying to find a leg that could handle it. Thankfully, I did (and inspiration came from my good fella BioRays http://www.flickr.com/photos/biorays/).

What I used was a clever-sy system of gears for the knees, wich provide way more friction than the regular ball joint one. Besids, I had also to add two pistons on the back of each leg, plus, it uses 3 connection points between the waist and the legs and 3 more on the feet (they're more hidden). Its still not enough, though, as it doens't stand as perfeclty as it should. But it does it well enough, and I couldn't do best without having to buy a bunch of more sets.

The cockpit opens! Its not pretty, but does its job.

The pilot is a pretty standard HF guy. Nothing special here.

And thats how you put the pilot in. No pieces harmed in the process.

Hmmm... I suppose some of you may be expecting some backstory. Well, this is a tactical mech designed by hero Factory for combat, recogn... Ah, whatever! If you wanta story, go read a book or something...

"-Whata...?"

Aaaand thats all, folks! Hope you enjoyed it! Leave your comment and stuff.

"-Haha, look at the size!
- Stop it, you...!"

Oh man, this is awesome, I'm glad you spent all this time on the moc, it's certainly worth it? Is it perhaps inspired by discharge by Rahiden?
Thanks! And no, its not inspired by it, they only share the color scheme. My inspiration came more from those mechs from Avatar and such...
Oh, and thanks very much for your comments, people! |

That is one amazing mech. I would also really love it if you could give instructions for the knee designs. Things like that are invaluable to me. |

Very cool. It sure needs more strength in its hips to have it do cool poses, but you made me laugh with your shoving the pilot in :)
Thanks! Actually, it can do some little poses, but its hard to find the balance. |

Great job! I know what you mean about the legs, they were a pain to make for my Bio-Cup entry :P I like the gear technique you used. Btw, how tall is it (in centimeters)?
Somethign around 45cm, don't know exactly...
And thanks for your comments, folks! |
