Taipu
"I am not Hafu! I am Taipu! Why does everyone think I am Hafu, and he is me? We are not even from the same village!"
About this creation
When a dark time came over the land of Mata Nui, seven valiant Matoran gathered to defend their kin. Hailing from Onu-Koro, a miner, his strength unrivaled, is Taipu.
As he was one of the best miners due to his strength, Taipu helped with various digs quite often. One notable instance was when the miners dug a passageway from the region of Onu-Wahi all the way to Le-Wahi. After this he went with to Le-Koro with his friend Takua, but unfortunately Taipu was attacked and captured captured by a vicious Nui-Rama. Later he was able to get away and escaped with a group of Le-Matoran, after Lewa fought Onua while under control of a Krana.
Then Taipu joined the Chronicler's Company, Takua's Matoran team. Of course, Taipu proved to be quite helpful throughout their journey; for example, he helped them reach the ice gate of Ko-Koro by moving some large rocks. With the rest of the Company, Taipu protected the Kini-Nui temple from the corrupted Rahi.
Later the Bohrok were awakened, and the Gahlok attacked Onu-Koro, flooding it. Taipu and Nuparu were trapped in a cave with a broken Bohrok, leading to Nuparu's creation of the Boxor.
Taipu was also known to be extremely loyal, but quite gullible. In his spare time he was a Kolhii player, although his team was not very successful. Taipu was also known to be adventurous, as we wanted to travel to places such as Le-Koro, which is one of the reasons he joined the Company.

For the 2012 Game of Riddles first round.

Apparently I was the only person to figure it out, but the riddle obviously references one team of characters...
The first was strong, though not the way you think
The second gave the questions, thought right out of the brink
They were a small team, some would say
These little ones were the loompas in there own way.
How 'bout the Chronicler's Company, eh?
So. The first member of the team was strong in a 'different' way: Takua had the willpower to finish their quest. As for the second, I'm not certain if the riddle is referring to Kapura, or one of the other members of the team. The Company was, indeed, a small team; though there were seven members, the members themselves were small, as are oompa loompas (which I detest due to several factors, including their general creepiness, and the fact that they are terrible racist stereotypes. But that's another story).
All in all I feel that the riddle itself possibly could've been a little better- no offense Mills & crew- but certain things bugged me, e.g. the reference to CATCF... although really, I'm fine with it for the most part.

Some people have complained that I did not fit the riddle at all. These claims confuse me. However, just for fun, I am considering building more of the Company. If I do, then let it be known that Taipu is only the first part of my entry.

Anyway, good luck to the other competitors, hope to see you next round. ;)

The Chronicler's Company was always my favorite group, it's great to see that you revamped one of them (or maybe more soon)! The Nuva mask matches his character, the hammer is a weapon Taipu just has to carry, and the bulkyness fits the character very well!

Quoting Chronos Omega
Sorry. I never joined the contest or read the rules. I saw several other entries, and they all shared those same characteristics that I said. From that I guess I just assumed that the similarities were because of rules. Sorry for any confusion.

Quoting Chronos Omega Why so?
Well I have seen various other entries and they have a duo, while you only have one character which you don't even interpret the riddle to refer to him. Also they also are non-official characters. (That last one might not apply)

The rules never stated that a duo was necessary- it was up to interpretation. You're right, I didn't explain the relevance to Taipu, but I explained how it fit with the Company, and Taipu was a part of that group anyways. Third, hex yeah they are official characters... not the other entries, of course, but the Company was official. They certainly played an important, if often overlooked, role in the original Mata Nui saga. If you meant that I shouldn't have built an official character, I beg to differ. There was no statement in the rules about that either.

I created the riddle, just out of boredom on a car trip. I can't believe it's not obvious to people.

Quoting Aquarist Shaluub Don't you think Oompa-Loompas could be a parody of racist stereotypes?
Actually, no. If you look at the old descriptions from the books, it says, roughly, they are "black pigmies from the deepest heart of Africa where no white man has ever been". It also says that they were unintelligent hence their low status as, well, essentially slaves in the chocolate factory. True, the movie adaptions do sort of parody this, but I still dislike them greatly.

Quoting MCLegoboy ! I'm guessing he is a Po-Matoran. It is hard to tell because I never got into BIONICLE storylines until 2007 and all the old pictures were gone and the Black to me says "Onu", but the Tan says "Po"
Funny you should say that- Taipu was often confused for a Po-Matoran called Hafu, because they looked exactly the same, except for their masks.

Quoting Deimos MOF Nice matoran. I tough it was likhan and kikanalo(spelling check) but yours make more sense because he's little
Hmm. Sorry, but I really don't see how those two fit the riddle. Besides, although they were packaged as a set together, Lhikan and the kikanalo species not once had any interaction in any story, to the best of my knowledge.

Quoting Wertman 8 Nice. Although I'm not sure just picking one member of the chronicler's company covers every single member. But it's still a great MOC :)
It wasn't supposed to be, I just felt like making one member. However since the date has been extended, I'm working on another.
Quoting Pure Epicness Nice although I'm not sure if this fits the riddle.

Thank you, for recognizing what the heck a loompa was. I felt like the only one. I love his slicey-hammer thing, it's great. And the fact you used tan is awesome. So, Chronal-Riddler, can you devise the meaning behind this? "I have no flesh, yet I am full of meat. I have no young, but I give milk. I am born of the ground, and cling to the sky. What am I?

Ah, none taken! I admit I could've done better with the riddle, but I had to implement the loompas somehow (you'll find out when the results come). I won't critique a lot (me being a judge and all), but I will say that you have done an excellent job!
