Mini Team Lotus (Gold Leaf)
Formula 1 Racing Team (1968 - 1971). The transporter is a converted bus (1967 AEC Swift LVT 480E), nick named “HMS Hethel” due to it's boat like size. The 3 cars are Lotus 49s with 3 different aerodynamic packages.
About this creation
I built this for the Classic Race Teams group. I have also built a much larger and technical Lotus 49 for the group.

The transporter has a removable roof and functioning doors. Includes a detailed workshop and ramps in the back. The cab includes the driver and sleeping quarters. 7 studs wide so the cars can fit inside. As usual I have tried to recreate the livery as best I could, and of course I have left some studs showing ;).

The whole team can fit inside for safe storage.

The cab and sleeping area. Doorway through to the rear.

Workshop and tool storage area.

Rear ramp to store the 3rd car.

From left to right: Lotus 49, 49b and 49c.

Colin Chapman and the rest of the team. I hope you like these Mini Minifigs, they are all subtly different. Just a bit of fun.

Hope you like it.

lol! tintin? the light blue guy I guess, ok, the minifigs are an interesting take, as they could do a fine job on forced perspective pieces, or this slightly scaled down, heu, racer scale? the truck looks real good, shape, proportions, functionality, in my point of view, only the windsheid, and front pillars should be revisited, an easy fix for a very nice kit!

@ Ryan – Thanks mate, that is a really good idea. I only have a modest collection of bricks (most of my collection is technic) so, like you, I need to take mocs apart before I build others. I would love to build a famous corner, or maybe a garage/workshop scene but I would even struggle with that. I will try my best Sir. I really don’t want to make another ‘CrackLink’ order. @ Chris – I really was not expecting that. Hopefully it will stay there for a few days.

Just read the rules, so it all starts on the 9th. From memory most of the creations will be posted in the last few days of each round so you do have a week or so before the MO juggernaut hits hard. I would love to see your creation but it might be wise to leave it until the end of the first 2 or 3 rounds. Going to leave my decision to the last minute (like last year). Lets see what the categories are.

There is no way not to notice it, as you and some of your buddies are my favourite builders, too ;-)) Sometimes I need a while to write a comment, especially for more complex models. For those I like to write a more detailed comment and that needs more time. I usually leave an open tab on my browser at home and then write the comments when I have some more time... By the way, I'm also planning to build a 5- or 6-wide transporter for some of my 4-wides, but it's still a vague idea, nothing specific. Maybe an open transporter or something like your Acid Race Team truck, or something completely different. We'll see ;-))
