After the fire of 1903 that basically destroyed the city of Williamsburg the county seat and eventually the capital was relocated to Godwin's Hollow. Prior to 1903 the city fell under the jurisdiction of the county sheriff's office but as the new capital it was evident that a city police department would be needed. Thus was born the GHPD.
About this creation

As you can see the GHPD is a fairly large facility. The roof top houses the local police helipad and refueling station as well as small control station and communications tower. Upstairs is used primarily for incarceration, interrogation, and investigation. Downstairs the fine detectives of the GHPD work tirelessly to keep our city streets safe. Outside there is ample parking for squad cars, police motorcycles, and even a kennel for the GHPD's K9 force. Once the department picked up the mobile command center the north wing of the building was converted into a garage for the police station on wheels.

The main entrance to department and parking for a few of the GHPD's vehicles.

The side of the building that was converted for use as a garage for the mobile command center.

The south side of the building where most of the department's other vehicles reside.

A young officer grooming his K9 partner around the backside of the building.

The kennel. Looks like the fine canine officers of the GHPD may have themselves a cat burglar pinned in the corner of the kennel!

Moving up to the roof we find the helipad's control tower.

Looks like one of Godwin's Hollow's district attorneys got a ride over from city hall.

Rooftop accouterments - AC unit, fuel tanks, fire extinguishers.

Comm tower for keeping the department connected across the entire city.

Top down on the second floor.

The interrogation rooms. Stereotypical high wattage overhead lights, microphones, two way mirrors, and an observation room between equipped with recording devices.

One of the department's lead detectives watching the interview in session.

This guy just isn't taking his situation very seriously...

Looks like we've got a little 'good cop/bad cop' scenario playing out here...

Across the hall from interrogations is forensics.

The department's lead forensic investigator is trying to identify a mysterious substance found at a recent crime scene.

One of the technicians uses some of the specialized lab equipment...

A detective makes personal observations while the equipment in the background autonomously scans evidence for clues...

The line up room where victims and witnesses can identify the perps...

From left to right - the witness, the DA, and a local officer giving directions to the line-up...

A Corrections Officer directing traffic on the other side of the mirror...
Visitation room for those already locked up...

One of the GHPD's inmates talking to his attorney. The appeal isn't going well...

A GHPD jail cell. Fairly spacious all things considered...

Corrections office.

Evidence locker. Looks like lots of good stuff locked up in there.

Top down view of the ground floor.

Main lobby area. Feel free to wait here until an officer can help you.

Front desk staffed by the always necessary front desk sergeant.

Break area. Grab a cup of coffee, fresh pastry, whatever you need.

Main floor office. The hard working officers of the GHPD diligently filing paperwork!

Same area from a different angle...
An officer preparing to go out on patrol...

The armory...

An officer checking his weapon back in after a recent operation...

Updating a hard-case's mug shot after a recent arrest in central booking...

Camera, fingerprint scanner, booking PC, and other assorted hardware...

Equipment locker in the garage...

The mobile command post, tool storage, and equipment locker...

The GHPD on the street in Godwin's Hollow. The GHFD is at the opposite end of the street and around the corner is Mercy General Hospital.

The obligatory cop and donut joke...

You really put in a lot of thought (and detail) as to the use of each room. Well done. |

Impressive office! The dark orange/brown interior walls are neat as well. I also like the "bay window" style for the nearby restaurant! |

I can't believe no one has said anything about the color! Very nice choice. It really fits the police station you built. Your details are impeccable as well. (Have you considered hidden Easter eggs, little jokes in all those details?) Very nice build. |

Double double wow!
So much detail and so much fun, I bet you had a blast coming up with it all.
My only comment is in my sleepy little town the local police station's front desk is behind a bullet proof screen and one way doors. Guess you can never be too careful! Did I mention WOW?!

Thank you all for the very generous comments. This has been one of the most fun buildings we've put together. We're especially glad to see the forensics lab has been a hit! We also just posted up our city hall which we think has some nice details too. |

Words can not describe how amazing this police station is compared to LEGO.
I love the detail as always the offices/jail/garage for the mobile command center.
The colours you use like the contrast of blue, light blue works really well, the window detail is great.
I love Godwin Hollow... |
