City Hall - Godwin's Hollow
The Godwin's Hollow City Hall is literally both the center and the high point of town. An imposing three story building with a clock tower that can be seen anywhere inside the city limits. City hall holds many facilities central the proper functioning of Godwin's Hollow to include the DMV, courthouse, city council chambers, as well as the mayor's office.
About this creation

This is the northside facade of the building which faces Main Street.

Situated in the middle of downtown Godwin's Hollow the city hall has views of Main Street, Central Park, Main Street West, and the East End Shopping District.

The southside facing of city hall which overlooks Central Park.

Shot of the rooftop sky lights, bell tower, and clock facings...

Top down view of the ground floor. The ground floor holds the Godwin's Hollow Department of Motor Vehicles as well as the main jury deliberation room.

This is the front door and main lobby current home of the City Cup - national award for municipal excellence.

There's a jury deliberating now. Sorry, can't discuss the details.

The other side of the jury deliberation room.

Top down on the DMV. In the upper left you can see where to take your written test (driving tests to be administered on the busy streets of Godwin's Hollow), the bottom left is the DMV manager's office, the bottom center is the main work space for DMV employees, bottom right is vision testing and photo wall (for your license - don't forget to smile), and upper right is a waiting area.

A new young driver taking her written test...

A friendly DMV employee getting the camera ready to snap your license pic...

A local citizen has his vision tested in order to renew his license...

Waiting at the DMV, we've all had to do it...

Top down on the second floor. Home to the county courthouse, a local artist's tribute to Godwin's Hollow's heritage, and the rather expansive chambers of county's supperior court judge.

Court is in session today but it seems like we have a civil suit in process at the moment.

Council for the plaintiff trying to worm his way up to the bench...

Second floor overlook into the main lobby...

A local artist from the L Art Studios was commissioned to create this piece. The artist drew inspiration from the city's Greco-Roman roots as well as it's support from the Native American tribes who assisted the initial settlers in establishing our great city.

The chambers of County Superior Court Judge Shari Phillips. Looks like she's in a meeting at the moment.

Yup, it looks like one of the higher ups from the GHPD, CEO of local tech powerhouse Bananas, and possible one other are in discussing something important with the judge.

Yup, looks like someone from the mayor's office upstairs is also in the meeting. Not sure why he's outside on the balcony - maybe it has something to do with the building being a smoke free environment...

Top down on the third floor. Here we can see the city council chambers on the far right, the mayor's office on the far left, and the city hall's press room in the center.

One of the city council's sub committees is in session at the moment. Looks like the mayor isn't present for this one.

Shot of the gallery in the council's chamber...

There's a press conference happening right now! Special Agent In Charge Mark Pellitier seems to be running the show although he is flanked by the Godwin's Hollow District Attorney and Police Chief.

Press corps. Literally between the mayor's office and the city council these folks practically live here.

The mayor's PA's office. Before you get into the big office you've got to square things here first...

The copy room. Ever since the Grand Emporium started selling these large volume printers they've been a huge hit all over town.

Mayor Anita Lockridge hard at work behind her desk. Recently re-elected to her second term the citizens of Godwin's Hollow are behind her no-nonsense approach the financial planning and economic recovery. Despite the huge outlay for the recently acquired orbiter at the Godwin's Hollow Space Center Mayor Lockridge was able to keep the city's books in the black by convincing local businesses and developers to shoulder most of that financial burden. Kudos madam mayor!

Another shot of the other side of the mayor's office. Even the mayor's office reflects her fiscally conservative policies rolling in at barely half the size of the judge's chambers downstairs.

City Hall on Main Street. Viewed from the west.

The east side of city hall. Looking down Main Street from the east side.

Ireland from the 30's - sounds intriguing! The clock faces on the tower are all from the official City Hall Set.
Quoting Antaine Ó hÓgáin Totally awesome. I'm working on my own city as well (much smaller buildings...rural Ireland set in the 1930s). This may seem like a silly question, but what did you use for the clock face?

Marc, I'm sorry, it seems I never answered your question. Actually parts from four sets went into our City Hall.

Thank you very much. We were trying for something very similar to the official set but needed to make some cosmetic changes to the facade in order to account for scale and the fact that we wanted to be able to see out all four sides. In our city layout the front of the building actually faces a wall and is very hard to see so we wanted to make sure the back was just as presentable. To give credit to the proper people, the copy machine was designed by the folks over at Brick Builders Pro. They've done some great smaller items within the minifig scale.
Quoting James Mckinnon The expansion of the city hall set is so clean, it's hard to tell where the original set bgins and ends. The details put in this are mind blowing. That copier machine is ingeniously designed for this scale.

It's pretty cool isn't it? That came from the fine folks over at BrickBuildersPro (www.brickbuilderspro.com). After sucking up a ton of their art for our expanded Grand Emporium they seem to be a little low on stock right now. I was just there earlier poking around and really couldn't find much more than some of their instruction sets. You can contact them directly thru their site and I'm sure if you put in a request they can turn it around pretty quick.
Quoting Brady Vogel Where did you get the Lego Head Andy Warhol picture in the office!?!?!?

Wow, thank you all for the very kind comments and ratings. City Hall has been a long time coming for us due to the size and color scheme of the building. We're glad to see so many other folks here seem to be digging it too. Our favorites are the DMV downstairs and the press room on the top floor.
