About this creation
The intent of this was to capture the same, basic appearance that was delivered by the original Bionicle set, including proportioning, color scheme, etc. Of course, I had many limits, but he shares a very basic appearance, which is exactly what I was out for. I also wanted to ensure his poses could come across as being much more natural/organic, instead of the common "stiff" looking sets we've been given.
This next set acts as a basic, creative-freedom based weapon assortment. The gauntlet guns/the sword, really.
Here's a Nuva edition. Obviously, it isn't based straight off of the Nuva design (the mask was far too large, and I didn't quite care for the armor placement choices -- or, rather, their limitations).
And, lastly, a Lava Board, a long with a rifle. I do not like puny, elemental-based boards that can ride on lava. This is really a hover board; big, power based on an engine, etc. It is, once again, not in favor of the actual intent of Bionicle. Simply a way of promoting creative freedoms.
Please note that this figure required me to "edit" some of my pieces. I simply trimmed down axis/pins to be sizes which weren't available. For example, instead of a 2m axis piece, a 1.5 axis piece; instead of a 4m pin, a 2m pin, and etc. The also trimmed some other things down, but I have a very kitbash-esque thought process going on, and since I didn't care not to combine this with my lego creativity, I went ahead with it.
I apologize for not having any instructions, but I do have a parts list posted here:

I'm new to Mocpagers, and I can't quite figure something out. This is just a sidenote, but it appears that the upload quality of this site is incredibly poor in comparison to many other mainstream lego community sites. Using the same format (though I changed it SEVERAL times, in order to see if the coding simply had a difficult time compiling the images properly), I uploaded the main Tahu photo on Brickshelf, and here. Here's the brickshelf image:

Why is the turnout of the Mocpages photo so much worse than this?

Epic MOC like the body love how it made, arm and arm look great just like it and the color patterns is great, now the armor is amazing but the upper arm is not that good i think it need some work on and The gun i say tahu is not great with a gun but the gun do look great. The lava board look epic i don't know how to say how epic it is.
I have no clue how else to do the upper arm without breaking the style of the original character/ruining the overall proportioning.
Thanks, though. |

Again, masterful work. I love the lava board, I agree that they needed to be redone, and I love how you made him in that Nuva form. The picture quality is a little worse on MOCpages than other places, yes, but that is for a purpose. In MOCpages you click on the photos to pull up a window that shows the picture in better quality and a bigger size. So the image you see on the page is actually a thumbnail of sorts. At least, that's what I think makes the photos worse than other sites.
From what I've read, the resolution is reduced a significant deal, leaving a LOT of jpg artifact. A thumbnail doesn't, in any way, determine the quality of the actual photo. Thank you for the comment, though. I really do appreciate it. |
