Presenting the renewed 2012 Shell 'Transport' full size pickup. The goal for the 2012 Shell full-size pickup was to become a useful work truck again as the Shell pickups were becoming pretty much useless 'sport' trucks.

About this creation

The 2012 model has many improvements over the 2011 model. For example the 2012 pickup features driver side mirror with an integrated turning light. The style of the mirror of course was inspired from the latest Lego official pickup truck models. Shell Company is always on top of the latest vehicle styling trends. Notice that the grill is still the same grey color but the bumper is now integrated with the headlights. The bumper is now the same color as the truck. The bumper also has the ability to 'pull' stuff with a hook attached to the bumper. The changes from the 2011 model to the 2012 model are not only cosmetic but rather useful.

The 2012 model also features a new hooks for Lego work equipment. This was also inspired by recent Lego official pickup truck models.

For 2012 Shell Company improved the tailights. The tailights look more refined and seem to emulate the Toyota Tundra. Another change was the Shell emblem on the tailgate is smaller and that refines the image of the 2012 pickup. As said before the 2011 Shell Truck lacked towing ability which was not good for sales! The problem as been corrected for 2012.

For 2012 Shell Company finally offers a fully opening tailgate how its supposed to be. This is very different from the 2011 model where the tailgate didnt open fully and it opened awkwardly foward.

The engine was also refined a bit for 2012. The notable change is the red coolant tank which now has black cap that can taken away to add coolant.

The interior of the truck is mostly the same with the exception of the seat. The seat is completely new. The new seat is adjustable!

The adjustable seat on a 4 wide model is a first for Shell Company. The color yellow was chosen to be in style with newer Lego official truck models.

Beginning with the year 2012 models all Shell vehicles 'must' have gas caps in order to be 'playable' with Lego gas stations !

I can tell you that this would be the last time Shell upgrades this pickup model. Next time the truck would be remade completely new!

Well you can see the MOCS from the first Shell Car Company model's back in 2009 and notice how the cars have evolved. Usually when I have a new idea for a vehicle I will test it in one of current models. If I like it then it spreads to the other models. I also look for inspiration or just new ideas here in MOCPAGES.
