Title: I ain't nothin' but an old hound dog.

For my entry I made a (duh!) Hound Dog. I had to use my small collection of Dark Tan very creatively because of the limited types of pieces in that color. I tried to make my entry look like an old hound dog, adding the floppy jowls, long ears, big eyes, sad expression and lazy position.

Head and front legs.

Back, legs and tail.

Bird's-eye shot.

Now to finish off with a joke: What do you call a fashionable pooch? A haute dog!

Well, I hope to get to round 2, wish me luck!

RESULTS: Score: 46, 26th place out of 150. :D

Quoting Reynolds . I don't think it's even connected. :P And I also think that's why he said it was top secret.
(Sshh, you're not supposed to tell!!)

Quoting Joonmin Qweon Very cool! How is that round tile for the foot of the dog attached to the leg?!

Great work. I really like the face.

It doesn't need a white background. Since it looks so real it could take a real dog's place sitting on the floor. :P

First entry posted so you get a comment! A bold decision to go with just dark tan, but you've pulled it off pretty well. Good detailing on the head too. Hope you make it to the next round!

Quoting Lego Builders Not bad at all for a 1 day build. I just don't like how the head looks out of proportion to the rest of the body, the body looks a bit like a crocodile, and the rear feet aren't actually connected to anything. Still pretty good. -LB Jr.
It's because of the limited types of parts in dark tan, as well as my limited supply. I had to be creative and use what I had.
  September 10, 2012
I like the technique for the hind feet, unlike Lego Builders, but I agree that the body looks reptilian. Hope you make it!

Quoting Dave Kaleta Great build and very expressive! Never mind any detractors who say you will "lose points for photography"; the photos are in focus and well lit. Not every build needs to be against an empty background, sometimes a little texture can be nice. Good work. ~Dave
Yes, I really try hard to get good photos, the only thing I would've changed is to move the dog so the pen scribble isn't seen.

Surprisingly good for a first entry, and actually quite cool regardless. The sculpting of the head is superb, and the use of dark tan works really well.
