Keep in mind that there are already retainer walls for keeping the toxic fog out of the Sentai Province. And technically, the Sentai Province is three seperate land masses that split to the center. They're only connected by bridges (had to work in the bridges from the original somehow). That's why their branches of the SPA differ from one another. They're interdependant states, of a sort. As for other masses, since the fog makes long range flight very difficult at best, then it makes sense. I had also said that the himilayas, the alps, the rockies, and mountain ranges would be possible refuges.

Hm... It could work. Or perhaps a weapon of mass destruction that was used prior to the Great Fog War (or during, either way) created large upheavals of land that could be utilized for living for some of the survivors? But then again, that would create essentially another part of the Sentai Province, unless it was a completely independent "colony," if you will.

Well, I was thinking about that a while ago, Mt Fuji wouldn't be big enough to hold very many people by itself. But if a seismic weapon were to cause a large land uplift, that would also explain the "splitting" of the mountain into three parts. More land would be uplifted, and with the drones' help (before they rebeled), the residents could have rigged up a very large lake with a retainer dam to keep the water on the uplift. That would be my explanation for the beach, but I'm unsure as to how that would affect other aspects of the story.

Sure. But this would have to be at a mountaintop lake or something, right? That is, of course, if the area surrounding the Province is still blanketed in gas...

Actually, It could be canon. After all the anime I've seen that somehow managed to squeeze in a scene like this, I think it would be fun to have something like this added, yes?
