I got an account just in time to not be too late in commenting on this ;) I think the sparseness of the MOC is a great touch, and fits perfectly. Also, Snoopy's arms are nothing short of inspired, and the siding is great. |

Great composition, a visually simple build but very effective. Good selection of proportions and arrangement which leads to a very artistic result. Flawless work on Snoopy! Good luck with the judges! |

You really captured the feel of peanuts in this one, Ian. The simplicity of it makes it nice to look at, though if you look closer at the dog house and snoopy it isn't quite as simple as you first though. The techniques used for the dog house are great! The only things I would do differently, and this is more of personal preference, is make the whole house red, and make the roof smooth/put black lines on it if possible. Now, on to Snoopy. Snoopy is amazing! So many NPU's! Adding in Woodstock would have been neat as well, though. Great job, and good luck with the judges!
I was initially going to make the dog house all red, but unfortunately my collection of red is rather sparse for what I wanted to do (with the siding). The black lines are a clever idea, I never thought of that. Thanks for the comment Ben! |

Let's just say that Snoopy got REALLY hungry. After all, Phipsons' got his bone (poor dog)! ;) Okay, that was a (bad) joke...In reality, Woodstock just didn't manage to make it in. I've got to agree that that he would've made a fun addition! Anyhow, many thanks for the comment! |

It's cool, Ian. Just wanted you to know that Chip is a copyrighted character co-created by me and Heather "LEGOgirl" (RIP) and that I do have plans for him.
On an unrelated note, I love this build. Instantly recognizable, and Snoopy looks terrific. I also love the siding effect on the doghouse.
Ah yes, Heather. I understand perfectly. I took the liberty of changing it, hopefully the judges won't disqualify me (I doubt it)! Anyhow, thanks for leaving a comment! |

Please do not use the name of my copyrighted character, Chip Philson, without my permission. Being as there is a long-term work in progress involving that character, I'd like him to remain in-house. Thank you.
Oh gosh, I'm sorry. I didn't even know you came up with it, I just saw it in one of Heath's builds. Well, provided the judges let me make a change, I'll get right on it. Once again, sorry about that. |

A very good entry Ian! I see that the walrus one didn't work out... Oh well, this is awesome! Snoopy is the best that I have seen, and the doghouse is great too! I love how you slanted the tiles for the doghouse! My only suggestion would be to have the ground be a little more interesting. The baseplate alone seems a little bare. Other than that, SPECTACULAR!
Thanks Matthew! I can see what you mean about the bareness of the base-plate. I left it like that on purpose, as the cartoons don't have much ground detail either. I tried to create a balance between the cartoons and an interesting build. Oh well, win a few, loose a few. Thanks for the comment and suggestion! |

Wow! The lever as the eye was very clever.
A purist comment however is that bricks should be attached somehow. But it is difficult to remain a purist looking at this snoopy.
I'd disagree with you on the definition of purist. I consider something purist as long as everything in it is made from official (unmodified) Lego bricks. I totally think it would've been cool to somehow legitimately attach the eyes though. Oh well. Anyhow, thanks for commenting, I really appreciate it! |
