MocOlympics Round 1: Ring of Fire
About this creation
This is my entry for the 2012 MocOlympics Round One, category: Ring of Fire.
My interpretation of the category was a spaceship with a ring of cannons allowing it to fire in any direction.

In the early days of space travel, before teleportation and FTL drive, colonies on other planets were completely separate from Earth, so their populations diverged from the human species by a form of allopatric speciation. Since the invention of FTL drive, the colonies have been able to merge and form a single empire. However, those from Sudaqahn have refused to join this empire and have formed an empire of their own by conquest of other planets.

One of the Sudaqahni Empire's most effective war machine is a one-man fighter called Shud'Ali, an name which roughly translates as "Ring of Fire". Its success is largely due to the firing ring surrounding the ship, which is armed with thirteen plasma pulse cannons, allowing it to fire in any direction.

Oooh, very nice! I like the round, organic look of it. Reminds me of some of Nannan Z's designs.

It's like a ring of blue gas flames, to cut through your enemies. A novel design too! I like the good job you've done of the photograpy, as single colour MOCs (especially black) are hard to photograph and you can see the details in the photos.

I almost made one like this for this contest using the exact parts used in your ring. It was gonna be a nanoscale battleship with cannons all around. Unfortunately, I did not have enough of the parts to construct it. Great entry!
