There are many Formula 1 cars on this site but I wanted to make these slightly smaller, so I have used a 1 wide chassis and the thinner racing tyres.
About this creation
I have a future F1 moc planned, and to fit my plans the cars can be no wider than these. The cars are built using only 38 pieces, and all three are subtly different from each other.

I was also experimenting with the depth of field settings on my camera.

Hope you like them, my personal favourite is the black and yellow Lotus Renault.

nice little f-1 s, the track is also cool, have you tried to put the axle plates OVER your frames? it could drop them a little more should nt it? does it drag because of the size of the tires?

Ha, ha... It's a shame that the fuel composition of these is so regulated, because you probably could make a pot of chilli, feed it to a few and produce some killer nitro fuel! Cheers... oh, and they are real cute! :)

I love 'em! I recognized them as: Scuderia Ferrari, Team Lotus, and BMW Petronas/ Sauber. Am I right? Anyway, I love the new rear wing tecnique! And the undercarriage makes the bodywork look how it does on the real F1s. BUT WHERE IS RED BULL?

Thank you so much Tim and David. I always try to keep you guys entertained with different types of builds and techniques, and it also helps me not to get bored with any one theme. I am actually really pleased with how these turned out. Believe or not it took several design changes to get to this stage. Now I have the basic design it is quite simple to change their team colours. The only problem is the 3 long smooth tile just in front of the driver. It is crucial to the structural design, but I only have it in a few colours. The future build is going to take some time and I need to order ‘a few’ pieces first - BrickLink here I come :D

Fantastic work here, Joe. You never cease to amaze me with your skill and versatility. You can bring us anything from racecars to wrestling tow trucks to robots to even a poor guy in a sombrero that clearly ate the wrong thing;) I love this build because it is so hard to get the effect that you want with LEGO the smaller you get in scale. I don't know if you can go any smaller with these cars and keep the detail and shape where it needs to be to be recognized. These cars are very recognizable, even with their subtle differences, and I can't wait to see what's next. Great job, Joe.
