Got bored so I revisited another old idea

About this creation

For those of you unfamiliar with the work of the legendary sugegasa, (shame on you) here is a link

I've previously toyed with the "super deformed" anime style before with my Lizzie series and various others

This was one of those rare designs that really came out of nothing. I mean, there was no overall plan, no concept, and no real end product in mind.

I built outwards from the shoes, and once I added that L shaped plate to the leg... well that was it.

The head and engine assembly (note this could also be an eject-able pilot block) came last, and to be honest are the only parts I experimented extensively with to get them the way I wanted. My first idea was for a more human proportioned head, but I felt with the squat body shape, it just felt a little under proportioned.

For a change I went with a fixed thumb rather than a hinged one. If I add weapons this may be an obstacle to posing, but at the moment this thing is a grappling mecha, not a shooting/stabbing mecha.

Colours - just experimenting with the idea she's a lady, I actually prefer the metal colour version.

Quoting David Roberts I think that this MOC has a real samurai feel to it due to the shape of the head and the skirt. I love how LDD makes it easy to experiment with different colour schemes.

V4.2 was easier to mess with the colours than 4.3 is proving to be. I don't know if it is just me, but there seem to be some glitches.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_deformed According to Wikipedia Super Deformed can be 1/3 to 1/2 the overall height. So while I agree it is only Chibi inspired, the head is practically 1/3 the overall height so the description fits.
