From Red Brick Saga #4 - Star Wars

About this creation

The Death Star hangar, for episode 4 of the Red Brick Saga, is probably the biggest minifig-scale set we've ever built for a stop-motion short!

We used the #7965 Millennium Falcon as a basis for scale reference, since we knew it had to fit inside the hangar for the quick-build animation seen in the spot.

For large sets like these, we make sure to build with our camera already in place, since we only need to build as much as we can see through the viewfinder.

Apart from the Falcon quick-build, the set also needed to be used for an establishing shot with some Imperial forces.

An extra component of this Death Star set was a detachable modular side corridor, for the duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader.

Awesome stuff! Is there a specific place that you get your sound effects from? I find that good sound really makes a big difference in animations. -LB Senior
