Parrington Levens vs David Alexander Smith
The Darwin awards: There’s a thousand ways to die, and an equally high number of “geniuses” to figure each of them out. Show us someone meeting their maker in the most “are you kidding me?” way possible.

Mwa-ha-ha-ha, I shall drink of easy prey this night...

'Did you hear that priestess?'
'Why yes my devoted, if somewhat crazily dressed paladin. Let's investigate...'

'There's that noise again...'
'Someone's at the door!'

'Grrr, darned door...'

Both paladin and priestess prepare for whatever foul minion the Greydell night may visit upon them.

Kicking the door down, the vampire finally enters the sacred Chapel of The Holy Light.
'Prepare to be fed upon humans!'

'Really?' said the priestess, agape. Did the fool vampire not know who it was dealing with? That together with her paladin and a handful of other friends she had laid to rest a dozen such creatures?

The expert vampire slayers issue smiles noticing the vampire is alone.

The fight ensues and rapidly the vampire realises his intended prey are anything but.
And before long he is fallen to the ground, the paladin's blade having butchered his left leg.

The priestess then raises her staff before calling upon The Holy Light, 'Shed your glorious light upon the very soul of this abomination.'

And then the vampire knew his folly and cursed himself a fool for not respecting a place of virtue and thinking to make a meal of a holy priestess of the very thing that could kill him, holy light. He was utterly destroyed...

BEHIND 4th Wall

G'day all.

Tried to be a bit different here. I wanted to show that sometimes, just a poor decision is worthy of a Darwin award, rather than just bad luck. Here we have an overly confident vampire who just ignores the facts and tries to eat two people he must certainly know to be most dangerous in town.

So vampire, for attacking a holy paladin and priestess of the holy Light, you get a Darwin award!

Quoting Pedro Resendes Someone should give you a medal for those lighting techniques and image editing choices. A classic Parrington work, instantly recognizable!
Cheers Pedro, hehe, I'm glad to hear the shots worked out in the end :) I am never sure what anyone else is going to think when i take them like this, so glad to have seen these were well received:)

Quoting Heath 'kik36' Flor Sorry you didn't make it into the next round mate. Excellent job regardless! A solid build overall, with some very compelling scenes!
Thanx mate, yes it was a fun build for sure this one. All about the mini figs...

Honestly, I wasn't expecting devils, meat-grinders, vampires, or cathedrals when I pictured this round. Both builds were outstanding, and Parrington, the feel you generated with your lighting was exceptional. Unfortunately, the functionality in David's build put it over the top for me, but a solid entry nonetheless!

Fantastic interior work and lighting. Bummer you're not moving on, better luck next year, mate!~H

I really like the chapel but in the end I decided to vote for David Alexander Smith, his entry was a bit more cleverly adapted to the category

Quoting Mike Johnson Parrington, take my wood chipper, it's not too late! Wait, sorry it is too late. I already recycled that for parts in my sub. The funny thing is that I would of loved this category, oh well. It's not over yet. You still have two judges to go. More importantly it's a lovely build my friend no matter what.
Hahaha, yep, I'll shove some vampires through it and we'll be back in biz!

Quoting Chris Phipson Ok... here we go. Both mocs are just AWESOME! I love how both of you took the category in different directions. And seeing as both were, as stated below, not what one would normally expect from a Darwin Award, we'll have to rely strictly on build here. David, your working meat grinder is just... well... SWEET! And a great take on the concept. Parrington, your middle ages builds are always top notch and your lighting and story presentation really brings a wow factor to the whole post. In the end however, a vote has to be cast for one of you and in this case I think David gave the better moc in this case. My vote goes with David. Good luck with the other judges and great entries guys! ~ Chris.
Cheers bud, yeh, as soon I saw Dave's entry I thought, ouch, I'm in trouble! Oh well, there's always next year :)

I mentioned on David's MOC that you have both produced MOCs that for me are a massive departure from the Darwin awards as I think of them, but they are still interesting builds with great features so well done. Love the lighting and photo angles. I don't envy the judges their job here! Best of luck.

well, this really sucks...wait, what? Ha! Didn't expect a vampire story with the Darwin awards, but hey, it still works. Love the shot with "pointy teeth" entering the chapel. Your pics all share an abundance of light, coinsidence? Good luck with your judges!

Quoting El Barto ! Great looking build here, Dude! And like Tyler said, right out of that book of yours. Some nifty photo angles in there, too, with the lighting. I'm liking this continuing theme!
Thanks Barto, yeh it's kinda a lot of fun. I always planned to start some castle type builds and it seems I have gotten into it without realising!

Quoting David Roberts An enjoyable story and another good medieval build to go with it. Why is there a fish in the tower in the title photo? I feel that I've missed something.
Thanx Dave :) The fish. Yeh I just wanted to put up a statue of maybe a 'saint' or something like that, and the symbol of the fish is closely related to Christ.

Quoting Tom Simon Hahaha! Lovely build first off Parrington, and looking forward to your round 3. But while I fully accept your warnings about the vampire's choice, I cannot help but feel his story is strangely compelling. As in, I see myself in him.
Hahaha, cheers Tom, I'm guessing you don't always choose to do what's wisest then? Hahaha, these days I'm almost the opposite, and dreadfully boring!

Quoting StoveTop Creator Awesome period build here... as always! A lot of hidden gnosis kinda stuff being presented here for only those with 'eyes to see'! Cool! Very, very best of luck! :)
Cheers StoveTop, why yes, I find it's fun not to make everything in a build stand out with it's own 'personal' photo but to just leave interesting curios/details to the viewer to find. Thanks for noticing!

Quoting David Alexander Smith Hey, you've set the bar really high there! The supernatural twist for a Darwin Award is a stroke of genius in itself. It wouldn't be one of your MOCs if it didn't have a great narrative too. I'm nearly there with my entry - just as a teaser, I thought I'd let you know that I've broken out my technic pieces ;)
Hehe, cool dude, yeh I figured I go down, it's gonna be swinging, hehe. Techinc? I am intrigued...
