G1 Transformer Jazz (mini figure scale / transformable)
This is a Lego Generation 1 Transformer Jazz - a Porsche sport car at mini figure scale and fully transformable.
About this creation
Transformer Jazz - one of the most famous character of Autobot. My mission is to build a car which can reflect its curve shape nicely, as well as to include all the details into it, at the same time to manage the size into 6 stud wide. I have tried to keep the transformation process the same as the original if possible, it is also what I like to do. Unless the transformation is very unrealistic or carrying a bad look outcome of the modes. However, because of the limitation of the lego joint/articulation variety, sometime we may still need to change its transformation process in a reluctant situation.

A pair of blue front head light is one of the symbol of Jazz. The Lego standard mudguards and wheels are used. The side rear mirrors are installed in front of the door.

The back has a big rear spoiler and bumper, with a twin metalic silver exhaust pipes at the end. The rear wheel part is a bit wider in compare with the front wheel part and it is just what the original model is. I supposed to use a pair of rear wheels which are slightly bigger to reflect the reality, however, I could not find any bigger wheel which is suitable.

See there is a back window made by the transparent tiles.

Doors can be opened. However, only 1 mini figure can be fitted due to the thick of the car door.

Dash board and steering wheel are all in. The mini figure is still sit on the left side rather than the middle of the seat.

The robot gun is attached on the top of the rear spoiler.

Start to transform!

The front bumper needs to turn forward and let the robot arms to come out.

The arms transformation is done.

Then separate the bottom of the wind screen with the front area.

The next is to do the head.

The head is done.

Then to do the legs transformation. The design is a bit complicated because to make it fully transformable without detach and re-attach any part, it has to be in that way.

The legs transformation is done.

Finally, to do the body.

Transformation completed!

The top of the car part is store at the back of the robot waist.

The foot are still the supporter for the body.

See the articulation of the area below the robot's neck. This could be the most difficult area in the designing process.

Thank you for watching it!

Quoting Leo Qin Masterfully done! Again, I would post every nice word I can think of here, and not be able to show how much I liked your creations. So, I will just say: It's my duty to report to you that it became my life-long quest to complete, by coming back to see every G1 transformers to be made by Alex Wang, one true master Lego creator!

I love your Lego transformers. I wish Lego would hire you so you can share your work with everyone. Your Mirage vehicle mode looks better than most Lego set cars. Your Mirage robot mode looks cooler than most Lego set robots. You're a certified Lego artist in my opinion!

Thanks Haran. Right, the transformation is a bit changed for the lower part of the robot compared with the original toy. I still not too happy about the look of the robot's waist area. I may modifiy it if i could think of a better way.

Sweet! You need to do something like make a basic frame for a car-transformer and make a how-to for people like me who can't (no matter how hard they/I try) figure it out on there own.
