WIP: Metal Gear Rex
Featuring the head and right arm(rail gun).
About this creation
Firstly, excuse me for the poor picture quality. I didn't find the need to set up a studio for this.

This is, as the name suggests, a work in progress of the famous bipedal, nuclear equipped tank first featured in the fantastic game: Metal Gear Solid(1998). Now, I don't want to spoil the game for you in case you haven't tried the game and plan on doing it(which I highly recommend). But I can say, that you'll be waiting for this beauty from the first time it's introduced. Man, these games are great!

This is the cockpit, or head, and it's supposed to open but I chose to let out that feature to obtain a more precise shape.

Here's the right arm, featuring a the magnetic rail gun, which features are explained in game(seriously, play them).

This pictures shows the railgun seen from behind. I tried to keep the original shape, but at some places I had to take some artistic freedom.

Another view of the railgun showing the point of connection to the main hulk. One of my main goals for this creation was movability, and I'm proud to announce, that this arm alone features three points of articulation, offering maximum posability.

You've nailed it! I've just begun playing MGS4 (Guns of the Patriots) and there's a really cool boss fight between two versions of these babies, where snake controls the older one versus his brother, Liquid. This has put me in the right mood to play, thx!

Quoting Justin Saber-Scorpion Stebbins That rail gun is spot on. The head looks good too, if a bit studdy. Are the wings on the sides really necessary? The ones with the studs facing forward? It seems like they could be replaced with just some tiles, or removed entirely, and the shape would actually be more accurate, as well as smoother. Anyway, great start - looking forward to seeing more.
Thank you! It's not every day one's creations get seen by the master himself:P Now, considering the head, then I will have to make some adjustments, herhaps using hinge-bricks. The wide frame-thing is a tad to blocky indeed, plus adding hinges allows for placing even more details and get a step closer the real(or not really) thing. As for the connecting points, then I guess it would be appropriate to tone down the level og "spikyness"/grepple. But they are still necessary for the movability. However, a good ol' 4x4 studless plate might fix that. Once again, thank you for providing feedback. I hope to finish this beast sometime soon.
