Underwater: Build us a moc that is set underwater. A simple enough concept but do you have what it takes to take it to the next level? Any "underwater" theme will do.

The seaweed grows best by the Old Colony. That's the only reason I was anywhere near that monstrous, abandoned shell. I had been sent out to collect some plants for the evening meal, but was having trouble finding good patches of seaweed. I knew I could find some down in the chasm, so after an hour or so of searching I gathered my courage and drove my sub-pod down to the darkened Colony. The vegetation was abundant and my packs were soon full. I began swimming back to the sub-pod, glancing at the colony. I saw a person standing in the dark window... just staring at me. I blinked, and he was gone. Unnerved, I hopped onto my sub and sped toward home. As I drove away, I kept glancing over my shoulder. I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being watched.

Interior shot of corridor.

Behind the scenes.
The only modification I did to these pictures was adjusting the saturation/contrast. The blueish hue was made by placing a trans-blue LEGO dome on the end of my flashlight (as seen above). So even the lighting is LEGO :)

THIS WAS VERY VERY DIFFICULT to decide but I gave my vote to Sir Balamorgineas. Both of your creations rocked equally but in different ways, he had action and horror and you created mood and atmosphere (and you know I LOVE atmosphere!) Also you both had great techiques perfectly suited to the build. But he wins by the thinnest of margins only by the fact that his build has multiple areas of interest and drama whereas yours, while awesome, is slightly limited in what it does. It does it extremely well but Sir B's just had a little more. Both the entries had 100% quality but his had slighly more quantity. Thank you so much for playing mate!! |

You and your opponent both had excellent setups and techniques, but the action in your opponent's build tipped the scale in his favor. My vote goes to him. |

as i told your opponent this was a hard one to call. I gave the slight edge to you, your underwater folliage sold me as a true underwater scene. You have my vote. Good luck with the other judges.

A wonderful build, but I think it's the lighting that makes this absolutely spectacular! One of those brilliant extra steps, well done! |

Nice one! Adding the bubbles was one of those details that just puts the whole build over the top! Good luck with your judges! ~ Chris. |

An interesting idea, effectively lit and with such simple tools too! I like the building technique used to get the curved roof on the tunnel too. |

Very moody! The use of a trans-blue piece to achieve the lighting was an ingenious way to get around the strict photo-shop rules ;) Best of luck! |

That's deliciously creepy man. Beautiful lighting. That corridor image is perfection. I too often cover my torches with trans Lego to get different lighting effects, or I hold one of the different coloured lids from my Lego trays in front of a lamp. Its great to see some behind the scenes stuff for how people achieve such beautiful images. Well done and good luck. |

Wow, that was creepy. I had the feeling this was the start of a new ATLAS episode, but the shortage of pics was rather dissapointing. The MOC, the story and the lighting are superb, but you aren't giving the judges much to judge on. Good luck!
My last entry had one picture, so I consider this a lot more to work with :) |
