M.O. Round 2: Lego Builder Junior vs. Stuart Lucas - Spinosaurus
Here is my latest animal...and also a contest entry.
About this creation
My entry for Round 2 in the MocOlympics.

Category: Bionicle Universe

My opponent: Stuart Lucas

This is my first Bionicle MOC since I was seven or eight years old, so this was something very different for me. It's not 100% finished due to the fact that I have a very limited supply of Bionicles. I probably will complete this after the MocOlympics.

I'm not pleased with the outcome of this creation, but it's the best I can do because of the time limit. What do you think?

Smile for the camera...

...or...uh...run!

Solid build, but not enough to beat your opponent's entry. My vote goes to him.

Pretty good. Spinosaurs looks like he stepped in some blood... ;) Great idea for the teeth.

nice dino - but my vote goes to your opponent - i was expecting a bionicle build but seems neither of you have much or any of it. your opponents build is a more obvious symbol of bionicle - good luck with the other judges! chris

Quoting Chris Phipson That's a really nice dino! The shaping is really well done and he looks fierce! Good luck with your judges! ~Chris.
Thank you, Chris. That means a lot coming from you.

Quoting Stuart Lucas A really nice build again! I like the way you've shaped the sides, and the colourscheme, and parts usage - all really effective. I share your pain on lack of Bionicle parts, so I took my entry (just posted) in a completely different direction and stretched the category description a bit. Whichever way the judges go, thanks for being a great opponent and I'll enjoy seeing what you build in the future.
Thanks, Stuart. I'll be looking at your entry in a minute.

Don't worry, man, the saur looks lethal. I have about 10 bionicle pieces myself and I thank god on both bare knees I didn't get this one! You used every piece to its maximum purpose. You made an excellent build, it looks sturdy, stable, poseable and well proportioned. And believe me, I know a thing or two about dinosaurs. Don't worry about the colours, no one knows about those ;)Good luck with your judges!

Quoting Chronos Omega Huh, didn't know here was a Bio category... I'll have to enter next year just to get that! :P Anyways, the colors of he legs are off, but the MOC itself os excellet, especially the technique of stacking the liftarms on the sides of the body. :)
Thanks for your opinion, Chronos. Yes, I know there's too many colors on his legs. I simply didn't have the parts to do it properly.
Quoting DeTomaso Pantera This is cool, nice use of pieces! I wouldn't class it as a Bionicle though. Best of luck Jr!
Yeah, I know what you mean. I used quite a lot more system pieces than what I wanted since my Bionicle collection is very small.
Quoting Legofreak2444 ~ It's definitely a nice build, don't get me wrong, but I think missed the category here. It's supposed to be something from the Bionicle universe, not out of Bionicle parts. Sorry for being a nit-picking bio-mocist. :P It's still an awesome build. Good luck!
Thanks for your honest opinion. I asked Chris Phipson and he said it would qualify as long as it's made out of Bionicles.

Quoting Nick Barrett I'd be pleased with it - a great take on a tricky category I'd have struggled with. Good luck!
Thanks, Nick.
Quoting David Alexander Smith I'd have been doomed if I'd drawn the bionicle category. I'm used to seeing bionicle builders subvert their medium to explore other creative avenues, so its nice to see an expert system builder like yourself do the opposite.
Thanks. It was definitely a challenge for me to build using Bionicles. Haha, now I'm wondering how other system builders would have done in this category.
Quoting MortalSwordsman . Cool build. I knew it was a Spinosaurus as soon as I saw the pic. Great work on the spine, his small arms and claws. I love the photos of him walking away. Good Luck LBj.
I'm glad it's recognizable.

very nice creation, but i have to say it doesn't look much like a spinosaurus. good job with the techniques, though.
