Pirate Battle Display At Skærbæk LFW 2012
This is my display, at the Lego-Fan-Weekend Skærbæk. Its a internationel event, that occurs every year. AFOL's from around the world, gather there, to show their displays......its just like Lego world, exept for, there isn't as many visitors. Eitherway 2600+ (paying visitors) came to see this even, and 350 AFOL'S came to exibit. This is my humble little display, it wasen't finished, when i did arrive, so i did alot of panic building. And i was respected for it, hehe. My three ships is: Grim Reaper. (The very black one) Crusader (The very big one) Golden Whale (The very colorfull one) The theme is pirate battle, + they are attacked by sea serpents. I had a really good time at the event, i did talk to alot of fellow AFLO's + The CEO (boss) of LEGO (at the time, i didnt know who he was, but i remeber that i was alittlebit surprised how much this "normal" guest knewt about Lego. And the owner Keld Kirk Kristiansen (grandson of Ole Kirk Christiansen) was there aswell, (i didnt got a chat with him however) Enjoy and leave your feedback. PS. i will make another page of all the other displayers displays, but i have to sort out all the 650 pictures i took first.....
About this creation
The Crusader will get its own page at some point, when its 100% finished,

The other ships is :
Grim Reaper
Golden Whale

I really like how my panic building did turn out,
this was a, last second add to my display.
(the sea serpent)
and all the splashing water effects where aswell.
I did finish it, 3 maybe 4... seconds,
before the doors opened, and people did stream into the halls,

My favorite part about the Crusader, is the cabin.
That balcony fits very well in there,

It was really hard, to finaly get the nameplate,
for my beloved ship. each and everytime i asked the engraver, to create it,
he said he was to busy,
and i should come back later, i asked him the first time,
friday evening at 20 15,
I recived it sunday afternoon 16:05 (5 min after the exibit closed)
But atleast i got it.
(the engraver did spell it wrong to,
so insted of: Grim Reaper,
it became: Grim Reader.
I was really angry and very amused at the same time.
I did even buy the Grim Reader, for fun.
I might turn it into some kind of MOC,

There was a point, where there where some kids,
who did notice me,
and said: Look mommy, look, there's a pirate, with a pumpkin face.
where to the parrents said: Oh my, he really has a pumpkin face.

Fun fact is, it did happend exactly as i descriped, 4-6 times. hehe.

And ofcourse my Golden Whale,
The funny thing is that,
people could reconize it, from Eurobricks and so on.
It was really pleasing for me to hear.
The moveing cannons, where both good and devastateing,
at the same time.
Because, people did overlook the other ships,
and the rest of the Whale aswell.
But i ofcourse had alot of positive response upon it.
Both from the participates, and the audience.
Every participate reacted the same way,
when i told them who i was, and that i where the guy,
with the three big pirate ships.
Then they said: The one with moveing cannons ?????
It was really funny.

My shark effect, where really great aswell,
this where to a last second add,
but it was great, and along with my seaserpents, and my water effect,
that did really pimp my layout,

These 3 ships are the business, my favourite is of course the Crusader, such a decent size, all those lego figures you can fit on it, great colour too ! And this ship is so attractive looking, especially of course at the back, with all those lattice windows ! So good.....well done

Then you will be pleased to hear that, I've demolished her, and completely re-build'd her, to a even more impressive battleship (when that is said, then the only thing i didn't change is the cabin's exterior) Im pleased to hear that you like her, but stay tuned, because the upgraded version will be unleashed upon the world, within a few weeks.

I'm planning my first showing of my work at a Lego how this year, so heartens me that you can get away with panic building on the day. Great ships BTW.

WOW! :)

That would have been nice allthough I don't think I'd actually place it on the Flying Dutchman itself (considering it doesn't have a name tag in the movie either) but it would be usefull for displays as a nametag next to the ship :P I'll check if there will be a tile engraver on the next Belug event, it's a great Idea
