About this creation
Category: Eye Candy

For the 2012 MocOlympics

My opponent, Matthew Oh - and his Entry

My category I was to build a supersized replica of my favorite candy bar. Not the most exciting category, I know...

I was orinally going to make the reese's peanut butter cup, but I didn't have enough orange peices for the wrapper, so a Twix bar had to do.

For the Twix bar I tried to make it look like the wrapper was being peeled off to pull out the twin bars, in brick form.

Here is some comparison shots. I used multiple brown whips to recreate that striped look of the bar.

The best part of any Twix bar is the sticky caramel inside. Mmm...

This is just.. wow. The effects of the wrapped paper and the opened Twix are hyper realistic, without my glasses on I'd almost eat them! :D

You know that candy bar kind of looks like a...candy bar;) This is brilliant. The wrapper is very well done. I love the torn look you were able to create there. For me, what really stands out here is the forming of the candy bar. Those whips were nothing shy of a stroke of genius. I especially like the shot of the candy broken in two. The effect really catches the eye. So very well done.

What really won me over in this match up was the bars themselves. And that pic of the one broke in half with the caramel oozing out... yeah, that's the money shot. You got my vote! ~ Chris.

Quoting Paul Vermeesch With such a wide gap between you guys in round one, this matchup was surprisingly difficult for me to judge. Stormbringer, your photos need some help. Matthew really one-up'd you on presentation, and his build was really nice and clean, while the studs on your wrapper detract somewhat from the whole build. Nonetheless, my vote goes to you.
Ah crud, that is troubling. I don't know much about presentation or skilled photography, but it looks like that there's more than just the build to work on. Your criticism has been most helpful.

LOL @ Freeling... Someone had to say it eh? Stormbringer this is an excellent built, lots of neat techniques and PU. I like the fact you've gone to that extra length to show the Twix bar in many different stages, I was half expecting a shot of you eating the real one at the end :) A nice treat for a fantastic build. ~Thoy

Amazing Stormbringer! I am a little daunted now, but I will do my best. A superb entry, with lots of awesome detail! I love how you used the Indiana Jones whips on the TWIX bar. A great idea! The mismatched letters add an awesome effect! Good luck to you buddy!
