Yeah, another "big one" that has been in an open tab, waiting for me to write a comment... Where do I start? The shaping? Ok! It's great, great great! It's unbelievable how you get to build these curved shapes with your "studs outside" technique. The model is instantly recognizable! All the opening parts are there, too, as well as a complete interior and engine compartment. It's just amazing! Great job! :-))

Love it. You have both produced a an authentic Lego replica that is true to the original car and the Lego bricks. Thank the Lego Gods that it is studded and not SNOT. Awesome and a tiny bit jealous of the person that now has it.

On a side note, can you tell us what the new owner thinks of it? I'm sure he'll LOVE it. I know I would. ;-)

That is absolutely beautiful! To be honest, I didn't recognize it as a 250 GTO from the thumb, I thought those gray part on the front was a chrome bumper. Also, you forgot the three air inlets on the front! But still, this is awesome.

You've used the studs amazingly here! They really do add the texture and curvature of this car. My favorite details would have to be those lights, vents, and the Ferrari badges :)

Very blocky and very very cool. I just love that windshield. I got the small thumbnail pic of it in the e-mail as a notification and I was like "what?, this looks like the real thing"! I had to look at the original pics to find that out! Beautiful!

That windshield with the massively curved outline is pretty ingenious.

I think we are usually drawn to the smooth studless cars, but this is really well done. I know making the curves with stacked plates isn't easy. Great job!

@Nick Oh, haha! That was lucky then :) Thats cool, I wouldn't have expected there to have been any right hand drive ones, unless they were converted.. I just googled it, and there is a few with the wheel on the right (in both meanings) side :)

@ Starscream : The chassis was originally left hand drive, until half way through doing the body Tom noticed the actual car is right hand drive - a close call! So the answer to your question is yes, at least one of them is :-)

Wow. Simply put, this is the greatest lego car ever made. Full stop. Nicks Chassis looked great, and I was really excited to see what the body would look like, and it is beautiful. I'd love to get paid to make a lego model for someone, though I can't imagine anyone ever buying anything I made. The body is just so perfect, all the details are exactly right and nothing is exaggerated or over the top, it is just gorgeous. Maybe when I've got enough money lying around, I'll employ you and Nick to build something like this for me. A DB5 maybe, or a BMW 2002.. Or a 250 Testa Rossa! Anyway, this is both a beauty and a technical masterpiece. Like I said, the greatest lego car ever made. It feels like I'm repeating myself, sorry haha! Oh, and could you do me a HUGE favour and add it to the group cars of the 60s? I'd love it if you did! For the 465th time, great build, and I hope to see you and Nick do something like this again sometime. Sorry for making you read all that ;)

Hi Tom, great name ;-) Unfortunately the bodywork can not be removed from the chassis which is a shame but I wouldn't really want the client taking it off and something breaking lol. I ordered all the pieces I though I would need before Nick came round and I had to raid my collection also. I need to re-stock on red plates. We only just had enough, phew!

To answer your questions yes it is a series II and I haven't the foggiest what those things on the roof are, they were just a detail on the real thing that I had to include, maybe its to signify port and starboard lol Good luck with your GTO, you're going to need it at a smaller scale than this ;-) It get's shipped to the client tomorrow so I will no longer have it for people to see :-(
