About this creation
For round three of the MocOlympics, I received the awesome category of Star Wars vs. Star Trek. My opponent, the King of Vignettes Ian Spacek will be competing against me. Since the category is well within my comfort zone, I figured that I might as well continue that trend and build the snowy landscape of Hoth.

A group of Star Trek characters have beamed onto Hoth, intent on destroying the new Rebel base there. In the ongoing war between Star Wars and Star Trek Captain Kirk has lead many such assaults, but never against a force this large.

Bird's eye view.

The Rebel base.

An Atgar 1.4 FD P-Tower defends the base, though all that remains of its gunner is a hat, thanks to a well placed phaser beam from Spock.

The group of daring space adventurers, drawn from various Star Trek timeframes. (Much as I'd like to, I can't take credit for the phaser design. It's Michael Jasper's, a phenomenal technique builder whom I encourage you to check out.)

Bones: "Sigh, happens every time I beam into MOCpages..."

Bones: "What's with the armor, Wesley?"
Wesley Crusher: "I know what happens to red-shirts, sir. I thought that this might help."

Worf: "That's fantastic, kid. Now we have someone to check for mines."

Spock: "Captain, I question your choice of apparel."
Kirk: "What, you mean the medal? It's the award of distinguished service, the greatest honour in the Federation."
Spock: "However, you've not yet earned that distinction..."
Kirk: "Well, they'll obviously give it to me after my stunning performance in this upcoming campaign. I mean, I'm Captain Kirk for crying out loud!"
Spock: "Most illogical..."

Kirk: "Oh yeah? If we're on the subject of illogic, where are your ears?"
Spock: *Unintelligible grumbles...*

A scout is surprised to spot the invaders.

The back, with the base's interior.

The war room.

A few off duty pilots play poker. There's an aquarium in the back with many plants and a fish in it, but my amazing skills at blocking light have rendered it almost invisible.

Thanks for stopping by, and best of luck to Mr. Spacek!

it s a bit akward to see these 2 factions against each other, but, it s highly enjoyable when you re a fan of 'what if' such as I, the scene is gorgeous, and convincing, I liked the little base from the outside, but, the inside blew me away! great work luke!

Very nicely created mod. A great looking rebel base. The control room is well done, the snow field is ready for the onslaught of the dreaded walkers splatting the legobles to bits. Well done and good luck..... Yes I am very behind in responding....

Great work on the landscape and the building!! The ice effect is purely awesome.

Cool stuff, Luke. One of the things that I'm really enjoying in your MOCs is how your landscaping is getting stronger with each build. It's a part of building that I haven't attempted yet, but you appear to be on the brink of mastering the art. This MOC is no exception. The rebel base looks great. That dk bley on the white of the snow is a nice coloring effect. Also the gun is very Star Warsy. You added an edge of humor with the crew of the Enterprise showing up on Hoth, which I appreciate. Very well done, sir.

Recognisably Hoth from the thumbnail and nice scenery - love the ice showing through. I always thought this was an unfair battle in anything other than space - the Federation don't seem to use ground vehicles - so I was interested to see what happened on the planets surface. Love the humour and Worf making an appearence too. Unlucky on not progressing.

Quoting Ian Spacek Great work Luke! I'm particularly impressed with the veins of ice in the landscape, the snowy rock-work, the Start Trek guns (held by Spock and Kirk), and the Warf mini-fig. Those elements are little masterpieces in and of themselves. I'm also curios which pieces you used for the cool glass computer-like screens in the bunker, I don't recognize them. That said, thanks for the stellar competition, it was an honor facing you!
Thanks Ian, it was a pleasure to face a builder and person of your caliber. Unfortunately, I can't take credit for the phaser design. for it's Michael Jasper's. (Forgot to say that in the write-up, I'll have to add that.)The screens are made from window pieces and stickers that came in various Hoth base sets, fittingly enough. ;) Thanks again, and have fun in the next round!

Quoting Shannon Ocean Great scene matey but I voted for your opponent. Best of luck with the other judges!
Quoting Chris Roach IMO you both unfortunatley failed at giving the epic battle of wars vs trek I was hoping for, its basically wars with a little trek on both MOCs. I have to pick one and vaders face wins the day. Sorry your opponent has my vote!
Thanks for lending your time to judge the games!
Quoting Cody G Well, not that it matters, but you have my vote. Tough luck on those other judges, I thought you built most excellently.
Thanks Cody, at least with your vote I didn't do worse than last year. ;)

Quoting David Roberts I like the snowy hill that you've built to put the Rebel Base both on and in. The building looks good too, with all those vents for a heating system on its roof. The dialogue between the Star Trek folk is wonderfully funny: encore!
Thanks, glad you like the roof!
Quoting Hayden . You Canadians just love to build snow! At least you can do it well, a nice build, despite the fact you mixed up star trek series, Star trek the original series and star trek the next generation.
Thanks! Yeah, I figured that since it was "Star Wars vs. Star Trek" I could break with canon a bit.
Quoting Tom Remy Nice and very clean scene! I would have liked a little more action though... Best of luck with your judges!
Thanks Tom! Yeah, in hindsight I should have went with a space battle in this category.
Quoting MortalSwordsman . Brilliant, what ever you do donít let Kirk anywhere near Leia as you know what will happen. That guy has no moral boundaries, Iím surprised he hasnít tried it on with the Hoth Monster yet! Not again Kirk! You have only just met the girl!
Haha, right... ;) Thanks!
Quoting Heath 'kik36' Flor LOL very interesting scene. This category would be a tough one for me as well. Looks like your opponent snagged the vote, but you did an excellent job altogether and should be proud of your entry!
Thanks Heath! Looks like you're up to bat now, it'll be interesting to watch your re-match.

Quoting A M Two of my favorite builders, paired against each other in MO Round 3 in a Star Wars vs. Star Trek category... I think Christmas has come two months early. Wonderful build! I love the iced over water patch and the interior was a nice surprise. I feel the snow could have been given a few more details, but it is barren old Hoth, after all. Great job, and good luck!
Haha, thanks! Yeah, I too would have liked to add a few more features, but I began to run low on white pieces.
Quoting David Alexander Smith Great Star Trek min-figs; will they impress Chris Roach? He's built some pretty cool Star Trek vigs himself. Personally I love it! Good luck buddy.
I'll have to check out those vigs, thanks!
Quoting Nick Barrett Looks cold out there - maybe that's what shrank Spock's ears... good luck!
Ah, that explains it. Thanks!
Quoting Kayla Rhodes (Busy with senior year) Awesome! Great work with Hoth and the Rebel base! It looks really good. I must say, though, that the Rebels should win. I'm a huge Star Wars fan but I am not a Star Trek fan at all.
Thanks, the Rebellion will definitely win this one. ;)
