What will the future be like in the next hundred years? Hard to say. Most People think that there'll be flying cars, floating buildings, or robots cleaning up after us.
But I've thought of a larger image of what might happen to humanity, where all traces of the human spirit is reduced into being an illusion.
About this creation
Category - The future is now!: The year is 2100 and the future is here!
What would a typical day be like? Show us a normal (sorry, not really normal), everyday city scene from the distant future complete with flying cars and robots walking designer morph slugs or whatever happens to be going on in your future world. The size were looking for here is about one city block in minifig scale
For the 2012 MocOlympics
My opponent, Paul Romano and his Awesome Entry

Here is an overview of the world you once knew. Earth has long become a desolate wasteland, abandoned and destroyed from wars long forgotten.

It is now drenched in hazardous radiation, contaminating the whole world and making living conditions impossible.
The native humans living there at the time have been mutated into hideous beings, beyond recognition of who they once were.

But not all perished in the old world. It is in human nature to survive, but at what cost?
Several surviving humans have built up a new world for themselves, building literally over the old one through the advances of technology.

The old world is now a dumping ground - a sewer for the people up top.

In this new world called Hellven, society was drastically changed in order to prevent anymore destruction because of humanity.
It has sucessfully stomped out war, poverty, hunger, and crime.

But it has also removed the individual, including race, color, religion, belief, ethics, morality, emotion, and through the wonders of science it has also removed gender, thanks to advance genetic engineering.

Across the city thousands upon thousands are cramped into tight row houses that stretch for miles. It is society's belief that it is not nessesary to have too much free space.

Hellven has become the ultimate pinnacle of Mankind where a new breed of humans boast in being the perfect specimens for this new world, or a slave.

To maintain order and vigilance several EYE's patrol the streets to keep watch over the citizens.
*CARRY ON CITIZEN*

On every corner of Hellven are public courts where Judicators root out anything, anyone and everything that is different with extreme prejudice.

Acording to law anyone who exhibits anything that is not normal is removed, which usually results in being cleansed (eliminated) from society.

These executions happen almost daily on the streets, but the citizens take no notice of them as if they were not there.
While humanity might have survived in the future and have become genetically altered to be superior, they have also mutilated their spirit and have become a shadow of their former selves...

My take on the category was inspired from the Orwellian book 1984, several Twilight Zone episodes that are not obsolete, and other totalitarian fiction.
This has been one crazy week for me. My room's a mess, Lego's all over the floor, and lost much needed sleep.
Still can't believe I let myself build something at this scale in just 10 days.
Well then, good luck to the other builders!

Great build again. I love the "differents" being vaporized and the robot dumping waste into the sewers. Reminds me of New New York on the show Futurama. |

That is a very cool diorama. I love the two levels and the various dynamics there. I think it is harder to build things broken down than well constructed, so kudos on that front too. |

I love this concept! It's an awesome MOC on top of another awesome MOC, and your thought-provoking story playing out on the streets of the "upper world" has earned you my vote. That acid corrosion on the "lower world" was impressive too! |

Wonderful dystopian vision. The flailing arms through the grates counterpointed with the classic Lego smile is quite effective. Really interesting build, and one I'll pop back and look at again. |

The contrast between yours and your opponent's future world was very interesting, I really like how you built a new city on top of the old one, (reminds me of Futurama actually). Great detail on the buildings, you have my Vote. |

A deep plot indeed, and some great builds.
Yikes, if that's what the world's gonna be like in the future then..well.. I'm not quite sure what to think of that. And..
No genders in existence?! |

I bet a dragon or two was used in those wars, huh? :P This reminds me most of Brave New World, unfortunately, I have something to relate this to. I hated the book, too. This is mighty cool and very creative. I like that you had the world be built on top ofthe old stuff. Very futuristic feeling. Nice work. |

If that's what the future is going to be like, I'm going to go live my dream of being a hermit in the middle of no where.... I've been feeling pretty darn nasty all day, and this certainly didn't help, but I just had to compliment you on everything here. Well done. |

Well... While I can't say your predictions for the future are too appealing, your depictions of the future are ravishing! ;-) The post-Apoc scene-- Love the Wal Mart!-- is top-tier, and the city above is most intriguing. Love the runes at the top of the buildings! Excellent work as usual, Stormbringer; best of luck to you! |
