A minifig scale replica of the USS Iowa as she appeared in World War II.
About this creation
This moc is my very incomplete USS Iowa from World War II. Currently, only the bottom two decks of the superstructure are close to done. It is done at minifig scale and will be entirely massive when done. If my math is right (and it usually is), then this moc will be about 22 feet long when done.
I had to redo all of the MOC due to the dimensions not being right. Now that I have an actual set of blueprints for the ship, everything is doing much better. I even got the turrets to come out right!
This is still a major work in progress, and updates are going to be slow coming. I have not even started on the hull shape, as that will be the hardest part of this build. Inspiration for this came from the wonderful mini-fig scale IJN Yamato here on the site and the other well-made ships.
I have basically completed the super structure and started work on the main decking and hull, unfortunately the model's size has caused LDD to crash regularly. I now know that with my current computer, a MOC of 18000 pieces is to much for one file. Sorry for the lack of pictures.
