Hot Wheels Twin Mill (4-Wide)
My 4-wide version of one of Hot Wheels' most popular models, the twin V8 powered "Twin Mill".
About this creation
I already liked the original Twin Mill when I was a kid. The idea of two V8 engines in the front of a car was so cool. The model was so popular that a full scale version of it has been built.

I've had the idea to build a 4-wide LEGO version some months ago and since then I've been working on different designs with LDD. Last weekend I finally built it with bricks and I was lucky to have all the needed parts in my collection. This is the result:

Left side view: Bling, bling ... I love these chrome parts :-))

Rear right view: A very short rear end, just like the original.

Left front view: A long hood and the big air intakes of the V8 engines. The original has wheel covers on the front, but I like this design even more.

Some "birds eye" views, just for fun...

Well, this is my 4-wide LEGO version of Hot Wheels' iconic "Twin Mill" model. I hope you like it :-))

Quoting Harry Gravett I agree, the chrome is awesome! Are these the original colours too? 5/5
Twin Mill has been produced in many colours. One of the original 1969 colours was "Spectraflame Aqua": http://hotwheels.wikia.com/wiki/Twin_Mill

Quoting Cars Lover ... one question where do you get this part on the front
Right now you can get one of the blue ones in the Alien Conquest set 7050 "Alien Defender". That's a rather small set with some very nice parts in it. And this is the BrickLink catalog entry: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=51739

Quoting Angka Utama You manufacture your own Hot Wheels nowadays instead of buying them off the shelf, eh?
Exactly! ;-)) There is only one problem: I could buy three or four Hot Wheels models for the price of the chrome parts.

Quoting DeTomaso Pantera Very cool! I don't fancy driving this thing though, how do you see where you are going?
There is no need for that, it's more important that the engines get enough air ;-))
