Bob Moog has the "Little Phatty" and Dave Smith has the "MoPho". But enough of the synthesizer pioneers. I bring you the Shifu "Girth" ... on the other hand, scratch that ...
This prototype synthesizer was inspired by 25-key synths like the Arturia MiniBrute. Unfortunately, I only have enough pieces for 24 keys ... Hmmm, maybe I should call this synth "MidgetBrute" ... moving on ...
Power indicator, power switch, and master volume knob.
Sliders and buttons.
Knobs, knobs, and more knobs.
Back (just for Kelso).
Oh, you want me to touch it? The synth, I mean ...
Adjusting the volume.
Pushing a button.
Setting the slider.
Fondling the knobs ... that did not come out right ...
This is AWESOME!!! Love it, it looks real. The spacing between the keys is very clever, must have taken a while to work that out?? Loving all the knobs, buttons and switches. One of my favourite creations from you it's amazing!
Nice keyboard! I can hardly tell it apart from a real one. The knobs and buttons are excellent! Looks like were up against each other in round three. Its probably going to be a difficult round for me. Good luck to you. :)
I'll avoid innuendo (since when do you need my help with that?) and merely point out this is stunning. Clean, detailed, convincing and well worthy of the praise it's getting here and on several blogs. And the whinging you did about this category too! You obviously need more subjects you don't really want. Well done mate, a great job.
This looks fantastic. Even though I've been active on this site for a while now and I should be over this by now, I clicked on this to convince myself that it was built completely out of LEGO. The keys are perfect and the sliders look great. Real creative parts usage to get that look. Very well done and good luck.
Just awesome, dude! Just put any small synthesizer under the hood and it's ready for mass production :) Took me a few seconds to figure out how you did the keys. Love the outputs too! (If you have any links to your music I'd love to hear it!)
This looks more realistic than a real one. You fooled me several times, that's how good your creation is and how old and senile I am ;oP
I like it

Awesome Shifu! Then again, why would we expect any less from your leetness? I have seen this category done many times in the last few years but I have to say, this is the best life size replica I have seen done with Lego by a long shot. Its clean (apart from the write-up) and really makes me nostalgic about my own kiddie piano I had 24 years ago! A huge well done! ~Thoy
Stovetop....errr Topsy really made it sound dirty....and FUN!!!! Beautiful work Shifu! That should keep people quiet about your lack of color use! This is eye popping, and one of a kind....definitely one of your best creations to date!
Looks like the real thing. Amazing work Shifu! I still find it hard to believe that you didn't make it to round 2 in the MO. Regardless, you've posted some amazing stuff in the MIT thus far! Cheers.
Oh man that turned out better than I could ever have imagined. Are you sure that's Lego? Looks so real. Too real in fact... I think you've performed some hypnotic mind trance on us to lead us to think you built it when in fact you just went down to the local music store and bought a real keyboard...
Great build. The clean layout and total absence of studs give this an authentic look. The sliders are superb. You could do some serious knob twiddling on the Shifu Girth. I also never realised I had a synth named counterpart out there.
Hey, don't post pictures of a cool keyboard on MOCpages, because... It is LEGO®??!! That's the most realistic thing in LEGO® I have ever seen! Terrific build, and good luck. (although you don't need it...) ;-)
