Light "Raven" Battlemech made mostly out of technic legos.
About this creation
Inspired by the Light Mechwarrior Battlemech called the Raven this completely original design is made mostly from the Supercar Lego Technic Kit. There are some conventional legos used for the Guns and Cockpit. It started as an attempt to make a completely technic mech which would look similar to the Raven but have a double knee leg system. It's evolved a bit over the course of developing it so include a hip design that incorporates a worm gear so that pitch of the torso can be balanced with the leg position.











I generated an alternate foot and ankle detail (above) using worm gears to try and provide an adjustble ankle (via the worm gear) which could also roll. The idea being that I could pose this more easily. Unfortunately the design I came up with just didn't have enough strength to keep the mech standing for more than a few minutes. So I edited the ankle joint to use the stronger AT-AT joints (below).
