Bumblebee , G1 Transformer
Optimus Prime's small but trusted brave scout......
About this creation
Likely my last Legoformer of 2012 I present to you a redux of G1 Bumblebee. Bee fully transforms without removal or addition of parts. He is a small chunky bot who is always ready for battle!

I have been wanting to redesign my Bumblebee almost the entire year, but I finally got around to it. I wanted to capture the original G1 Chibi / Penny Car look of the minibots vehicle mode as it was back in the 80s. I also wanted to give Bee a different transformation than the original toy. I think you'll like this little compact autobot scout.

Watch my video review to see more details and the transformation click here .

i am really not the person to ask if you aren't using ball or socket joints i love those things - they're in all my creations. Best to start simple look at the original G1 minibots - simple transformations and simple articulation - start there then get elobrate!
Quoting Disco Chicken Before I said that I might make a bumblebee,so I started to make one and I'm having a lot of trouble. PLZ can you help me? I don't have any ball and socket joints,I don't have to many ratchet joints or bendy joints. thanx

I completely understand. And, no worries, I'm not going to clone it, I just need some ideas on the body structure and where to have which bodey parts go when the robot is in vehicle mode... that's the hardest part for me along side color of coding :-/

Quoting Snowbot336 McBrick Well, would you be able to make an LXF. of this one? I'd REALLY like to get a basic fram for a decent tranformer... or, do you have a transformer starter kit thing? I am trying to make a transformer and cannot find the best technique, or at least I couldn't, until I found this one :D

Incredible upgrade! Your Gundam builds are great, but you truly excell at Transformers. I love especially the sunken canopy which gives it a very sporty look. Looking at it I am wondering how you did that. Bee in robot mode looks great from the back too, very clean lines, no distractions.

the original G1 Bee toy was a truncated minibot whos beetle vehicle mode scale was wacky so if you noticed i guess i managed to duplicate the chunky crazy compact scale feel! and was looking to somewhat modernize the bug look though which you also noticed. as for GI Joe, my cobra soldiers were always outnumbered by my heroic Joes too!
Quoting cyberfrank 2010 I m no expert in transformers, g.i.joe was my thing, whatever money I had, I invested in keeping up with the catalog, if some money remained, I invested it in my cobra army to be realisticly treatning, lego, and all, took a break, when you wrote 80 s I figured a beetle, but, that s a different model, I don t know it, the robot mode is fab! if it was possible to include gripping hands, even better, the car mode looks cool, until we see the profile, it seems short a bit, as a car lover, I have to point this out, but, perhaps it s accurate. in any case, yellow and curvy makes this piece shine! bravo chris!
