Quoting David Alexander Smith Tim, I would be honoured to have my creation featured on your home page. I've seen the company I'd be sitting next to, and that would be some compliment. I think this MOC actually had the largest number of building sessions, and reworks, and in my opinion is one of my best. Expect some more artistic pieces from me soon. Have a really happy Christmas with your family Tim, and I look forward to sharing more LEGO adventures with you next year.
Happy to do it, David. It was only a matter of time before I picked one of yours. Thanks for the well-wishing, and I hope that you and your family have a wonderful Christmas as well, and that your kids get everything they want from Santa, (or, Father Christmas on your side of the pond, right?) Anyhow, it has been a pleasure following your work this past year and being able to call you a friend I've never met, and I look forward to seeing what we can come up with in the next. Best wishes.

Quoting Tim C I keep coming back to look at this, David. I can't get enough of the artistic hand in this brilliant work. There are several Christmas themed MOCs that have come out over the past few weeks, but this one, I think, really captures the true meaning of Christmas, more than the rest, (there was more meaning to my first statement on my original comment than just to compliment). It is a lovely little coincidence this year that Christmas falls on a Tuesday, which is also when I feature a new MOC for the week. I would like to feature this one for a special Christmas edition of the Pick of the Week. Would I have your permission for that?

This is extraordinary, I really like the style. It reminds me of a special kind of silhouette animation. Very original! ***Merry Christmas!***

Quoting David Roberts I love the Mage with the red beard and how his nose curves too. Wonderfully Christmassy!
It was a challenge giving each of the kings their own profile. Because the beard worked so well, that king made it to the front of the pile.

as I said to you before, I have trouble with diorama-esqe things, but this feels ... different. I think if you remove the foreground completely, do the entire thing like the background, it would be really good. for example, if the cradle were protruding out of the background, and still having the baby inside. a lot could probably be done with hinges, like creating false walls and pathways that come out of an image. I guess what I'm trying to say is the background looks much better in comparison to the foreground. hope some of that makes sense

Quoting Tim C Ah, the true meaning for Christmas. This is some great work, David. I love your artistic works the best, I think. The background on this is so very well done. The Christmas star and the lone cloud really adds a great effect. My favorite part of this build is the bearded wise man. I love the shape you were able to accomplish for the head. Fantastic!
Thanks Tim, I thought the star was a neat trick. Based on the success of some of my backdrops I'm toying with doing some mosaic work - could be interesting.

Quoting MortalSwordsman . A fantastic take on this traditional scene. Love the colours and 3d nature of the build. Their eyes are great especially the king/wize man on the left.
The eyes are something I'm really working on in these larger builds. There is a new technique used on the bearded king, which I think works well, with the black and whites of the eyes inverted.
