Woman in Red ('57 Chevy Bel Air Convertible and instructions)
I've wanted to do a classic Chevy for some time now & of course it has to be a '57 Bel Air. I've always had a soft spot for the Nomads (especially after some guy in my neighborhood finished restoring his) and I thought a '57 Nomad would be a good way to start, from that I've made this one. This is one of the largest builds I've ever undertaken, the final dimensions are: 60L, 26W, 14H and 2080 pieces! This is part of my "Open 57 Project", that means you can download the LDD instructions for this Moc FOR FREE. Eventually there will be a '57 Bel Air Convertible, '57 Bel Air coupe, '57 Bel Air Gasser and a '57 Nomad. Using the Nomad as the base for each of these and (if you've got the pieces) it's your's to build! I've probably used more pieces then what was needed to achieve the aesthetics (looks) but I wanted this to be a stable and solidly made model.
About this creation

As you can see in this pic, everything opens, the glove box too just like the Nomad

There is a Chevy badge on the back of this but not on the front. But if you want to put on on the front you can :)

Lots of butte space

Moving pedals and tilt adjustable steering wheel, also visors and a rear-view mirror

In each '57 Chevy there will be a different engine. In here you'll find a twin-carb 350Ci engine (Blue Motor)

You can almost imagine this cruising down Sunset Boulevard... if it were made out of Lego

The "divot" in the door was tricky to put in, but I think I nailed it...

Int front of this '57 Bel Air you'll find bench seats, but, if you want buckets, I'll be uploading instructions for just the seats (and engines)as soon as I can. I went with a red-on-white interior, you know... something classic

I know that putting my design online for everyone to download leaves it open to criticism but, it's solidly designed, looks the part and FREE!
Please rate and comment, thanks.

This is my wife's dream car, so naturally I love this brick rendition. Whenever I get one of these for my wife, I will definitely look to this in order to make a brick model to go along with it.

Quoting Nate Andrews Fantastic work!!! I'd love to see this and your Nomad in real bricks some time. For now, is it alright if I feature the main photos of BOTH cars on the home page of the "Chrevrolet" group?
I have no problems with that, go for it:-) I'm still working on the coupe but there was a setback when I had to wipe the HDD and reinstall everything:-(

Quoting Ape Fight This is an awesome digital design; the shape / details are close to perfect; it's a *really* well thought out creation. Of course I still think the point of Lego is to use bricks to make things, but this is so good it still gets 5/5 : ) P.S. Much respect for offering your digital designs for free. In an age where everyone wants 'credit' for the smallest, often unoriginal, idea, and where people get uppetty when MOCs look slightly similar, offering free instructions of your hard work is a refreshingly nice thing to see : )
Thanks Ape, have you seen my '57 Nomad?

Awesome work! I love all the detail you've put into this! It reminds me of my '57 Chevy that I built! Fantastic work and keep on building these beast's!
