Hi everyone! This is my third tiny RC with two M motors, an IR receiver, a battery box and a working and realistic articulated part! It's 47 stud or 37,5 cm long, only 6 stud wide and contains approximately 800 pieces! Hope you like it! :)
About this creation
Video
It shows us the inside, how the motors work, you can see the bus in action and the articulated part during operation!
There are some photos here, they show the whole bus:
Unfortunately there is no place for passengers and driver.
Steering works very well! The bus has no problems in the tight bends of the lego road plates. The chance of the oversteering is still alive, but not too dangerous! If you steer too much, the windows stop the gear rack, the motor rises the roof a little together with some gears, a split grows in the transmission, so the motor can spin freely. You can repair it easily: push the roof back!
The bus is full of interesting building techniques. The front and the back contains a lot of upside-down pieces and the doors are vertical.
The articulated part
It was the most difficult part of the building, so I'm very proud of it! :) First I tried to use technic 2 long liftarms, but they didn't move realistically. They were very ugly in the bends and in straight, too. I wanted the parts of this part to move smoothly and to stay in the middle. Finally I put into the first part of the bus two pneumatic tubes by two of these elements. At the back the tubes are held by two technic hole. The distance between the two parts of the bus is changing, so the tubes have to slide a little.
This is a part of the articulated part. You can see the spaces of the tubes. The cabel of the receiver goes to the battery box through the 2X3 whole, too.
On the bottomview you can see the cardan joint, which holds the weight of the back, it pulls the back part and if you reverse, it helps you to drive. (the tubes are very flexible, so they are unpredictable, too :)
If you like my bus and you want to play with it at home, please support on Cuusoo. You can find my other two tiny RCs here and here! Supporting takes only one minute and you can do it with your facebook account, too!
Seriously amazing work on the steering. I managed many years ago to put RC in something this size, but it was horribly unreliable. Next attempt will be based entirely on this magnificent solution.
It's a shame that i missed this brilliant creation from you Gabor. It's absolute stunning work with loads of details. You nailed it! So many functions and details, great. This bus is the best i've ever seen here on mocpages, i think. Very well done buddy :)
happy new year! wow! the presentation is top notch, music, and one of those instances where seing a video makes you understand the real potential of a piece, I found your 'link' system elegant, but, nothing prepared me for the flexibility you acheived, the refinement of this piece is testament to your obsession for perfection, it s all kinds of great, if I can suggest something, since your bus is very precise, a route layout would impress even more, as I saw how good you are at driving it, I imagined you parking it, just a tought, best bus indeed!
Sorry for the delayed comment, but better late then never! (Dutch saying :D) A great bus! I remember these buses because the Citaro 2000-2005 mode (this one) is used a lot in my town. Now they have the 2008 models. And how can you squeeze all of the PF in this minibus? And that articulated part... Wow... Best bus here on MOCPages for sure!
Without all the technic stuff it would be a nice bus. It's very impressive how you managed to put the motors inside and to connect the two elements without making compromises for the shape. Supported!
SO awesome! I need one of these :-D Fantastic piece of work, there's no end to all the accurate brilliant details and ingenious functions on this bus. And in minifig-scale!
Whoa! Another fantastic RC MOC from you buddy! Now this is really amazing - looks great and has all those functions! The articulation is very well done, and I love the front. Great presentation, too! Really a stunning build!
