The Steambirds AAA was first manufactured in 1909 as a long-range howitzer.

The Steambirds AAA was designed by Sir Humphrey Boggart and manufactured by Boggart & Son LTD. Even though it was classified as a howitzer because the cannon calibre was over 9.0mm, it was used as an anti-aircraft gun throughout the Sixteen Years War by the Steambirds.
