part #1 of 3 the cargo train
About this creation
NOTE;

Notice this train is unnamed, it is waiting upon approval,
Andy works in trains for real, he will decide
on what could be more practical in the field,
train replicators, modelists, beware...
I m Gene rodenberry inspired with this project,
I m not reproducing the past,
I go where no one has gone before... the future,
the scale is 'cartoon fig', they can t sit side by side,
it s expensive enough already.

THE STORY
Mr mercury, has quit the managing post at Cybercity freight depot,
too many problems with CENTRAL and
missunderstandings with angry drivers,
threaths from GF agents to be 'conditionned'
finally had him trough...

his successors however have cost millions of credit to the GF afterward,
it coincided badly with MR RICHMOND investing in the depot at the time,
pressed upon that, and probably other motivations...
MR HARRIS sends corporate agents to 'fix the breach'
however they can....
before this buisness venture becomes titanic...

C AGENT #1;
Mr mercury?

C AGENT #2;
a.k.a. mr trouble?

MR MERCURY;
Yes on both accounts!

C AGENT #1;
First, let us give you our most sincere apologies!

C AGENT #2;
The funny nicknamer has been re-conditionned,
you had every right to complain and wanting to improve on things here!

MR MERCURY;
Yeah?, well, that s about it for me, you had me dress up,
now, give me the money!

C AGENT #1;
Of course! here! the discussed amount is all in this suitcase!

C AGENT #2;
The girl will hold it for you, we need your complete attention.

MR MERCURY;
What about?

C AGENT #2;
About re-instating your post here, at the depot!

C AGENT #1;
With much increased salary of course!

MR MERCURY;
You corporate agents are a bit on the slow side aren t you?
I don t need no money no more!
not with this case!
I asked that amount to retire, forever!
house, super car, I wanna be a rockstar package!
do I need to speak french so you understand?
je vous emmerde!

C AGENT #2;
your negotiation skills are impressive!!!

C AGENT #1;
Listen, in this 2nd suitcase, is the same amount as the other,
all you have to do is comment about the train,
and it s yours too!

MR MERCURY;
The same!
Ok, I look at it.

C AGENT #1;
We have been loosely informed about the technicalities of this prototype.

C AGENT #2;
The power from this locomotive comes from advanced solar panels,
they capture energy 500% of normal flat panels!

C AGENT #2;
Once at high velocity momentum, the side turbines can serve
either as power generators, or for a boost of speed!

C AGENT !;
The access for the twin engines and tools is here!
by these dark grey doors!

C AGENT #2;
Safety measures have been increased and unfortunate accidents will be avoided!

C AGENT #1;
We value our transport specialists, they are...precious!
we installed red-green lights to alert the workers
of movement on every part of the train!

MR MERCURY....

C AGENT #1;
We increased the number of lights near the depot,
so that pedestrians get alerted in advance, in case of movement.

C AGENT #1;
The reliability issues are problems of the past!

C AGENT #2;
The trains will get on time!

MR MERCURY;
They where not the only problems...

C AGENT #2;
We know your problems!
traffic! By now, pretty much all colonists know about Cybercity s 8 access roads,
it will be much easier this time around!

C AGENT #1;
The last person who supervised the depot Mr jovial,
never complained about it, it seemed solved.

MR MERCURY;
jovial pulled a truck 20 feet in the air with the crane!
I d say he still had problems!

C AGENT #1;
Perhaps you noticed the new enlarged entrance for the trains?

C AGENT #2;
We installed lights there too!

MR MERCURY;
I can t beleive CENTRAL could make a mistake like last time!
I mean, I went insane seing a locomotive ram the depot!
there is no way I m comming back here!

C AGENT #2;
Hummm, well, we pay more attention now.

C AGENT #1;
Yes, this city is small, 6 wagons is all the GF is willing to risk investing.
the share holders mentionned something about a small appartment,
it did nt make much sense to me, but, I have directions to follow.

MR MERCURY;
I stopped trying to figure long ago!

C AGENT #1;
The container wagon can accomodate 2 types;
a 6x12x6' high,
or a jumbo 6x24x6 high.
it still is THE GF CONTAINER STANDARD in use,
all transport units support it.

MR MERCURY;
No news to me...

C AGENT #2;
We installed magnetic locks on the valves s system,
it is very difficult to steal the liquigel now!

C AGENT #1;
Valves volume has been increased as well,
it now only takes 10 mins to transfer the precious liquid per wagon now!

MR MERCURY;
I would have appreciated that then...

C AGENT #1;
It s been decided to allow 2 wagons for your sector,
since you produce liquigel here, it s more than demand.

MR MERCURY;
It might be the only problem I did nt have here!

C AGENT #2;
Now the car transport wagons, it did nt made much sense to us to sell econo cars,
when the real money is in sports cars!

C AGENT #1;
It was a worthy investment, although we could have gone further on this,
we decided that infrastructural costs where prohibitive,
as it ment rising all buildings to accomodate double decker wagons,
again, the small appartment nonsense was mentionned!

MR MERCURY;
Take it easy on yourselves!... stop trying!

C AGENT #2;
The same 'magnetic lock system' is applied on this new car transport wagon,
the 'black hooks' are also magnetic, and serve to lift the plate the car is sitting on.

C AGENT #1;
To insure safety, additionnal side locks have been designed,
you ll notice that there is no 'caboose'....

MR MERCURY;
Small appartment?

C AGENT #2;
You catch on fast!

C AGENT #1;
Here is your money,
We can see money is no motivation to you,
but, before you decide about the job, consider this,
Cybercity can t survive without a freight depot,
as self sustainable as it is, not much more than food will be availlable here,
there are no industries around, it s pretty much a jungle in sector 14,
with this much money, you ll have a great living,
but, the rest of the city will become deserted...

MR MERCURY;
...

C AGENT #2;
We have greatly improved on this facility,
you will now benefit from air transport as well!

C AGENT #1;
With a vertical farm on the way, an elevated parking, ect...
Cybercity s dependance on the depot is crucial!
go home, and think about this.

MR MERCURY;
I ll get myself an electra, cruise the sunset, and I ll get back to you...

CREATOR S LOG;

Ok, the cargo train 8' is done, so is the depot and it s functions,
now, the Andy field-man approval, adjustments, and name of this prototype,
have yet to be done, in the second installment,
we will get to see how it all works toghether with the mun garage.

the third installment will see it in action,
I have to mention this was the most brain smashing build for me to date,
in my opinion, my very best yet!

I came up with a storyline for ninja challenge,
the 1 rst brave contestant? ; builder allan!
we see here 'the man with the letter'!

to fishfam;
here are the bicycle racks I told you about!
I installed part of the sidewalk just for that,
I m out of light gray plates!

I had an 'emporum opportunity', I seized it,
if it never occured to you before, ALTA-5 s parking standard is
the same as the official cafe corner modulars....
just look at these great looking street parkings! lol!
I placed it in a house location, it should look a little more like this when I finish replacing the houses with appartments.
I bought it for meat to my bank, but, I did nt assembled it for nothing...
lol! expect the unexpected! lol!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Certainly a very strong locomotive now, it will be no problem for your city if import/export demands via rail increases :-) I like how you built the sides of that trailer by the way. The grooves make a nice effect.

Stunning train - the locomotive looks fast! If that doesn't run on time, nothing will!

Very futuristic locomotive! I like how eloquent and sleek it is, yet still has that "freight" feel. Anyways, the comment by Andy L suggesting that the freight cars have a single bogie inspired my to create something for you. Check out my "Modular Freight Cars" (just uploaded) and let me know what you think!

Quoting Andy L thanks Andy, to you too! advice; I m not going anywhere, if it ever comes to you, any practical concept that would help you in your work, you tell me, I ll try it, for the skirts, d like it, but, I won t get into it now, as it requires much experimenting, same for the wheels, I tested thorouly with the depot, and like it is, it fits well, I ll do the station, and finish the city, then, I ll probably experiment on the wheels and skirts, 2 things saddened me when I learned about it on my post, 1 he passed, 2 he was ill for 2 years, from my researshes on him, he was a kind sweet man, but, he was also a perfectionist, I really liked what I red about him, it really touches me you think my tribute was worthy, as it was my dearest wish, and the circomstances where tragic, you make me feel a lot better Andy, thank you very much!

Hi CF. Happy New Year to you mate. This train really is impressive. I think the length is spot on with this one. I really like the curved panels around the cab of the loco. As for advice I really don't know what I can give you. The trains I've built have been based on real life ones so I have just used the Internet and photos for reference and just experimented with SNOT and such like to get the desired look. I really like your futuristic vision and the only thing I think would look really cool is to put skirting on the base of trains obscuring the wheels to give that Gerry Anderson floating look. Might be a bit of a job on the loco but I think if the wagons and carriages were single bogey rather than double it might just work. Btw it was very sad to learn of Gerry Anderson's passing, I think your trains are a fitting tribute to him. All the best, Andy
