About this creation
Back to Bio MOCing it appears. I'm going to try and not say too much here today. I do apologize for the pics though, I promise I'll get better ones ASAP.
Anyway, I suppose we should carry on, yes? Yes, so, shall we?
Nomad. Wanderer. Traveler. These are the three top words used when describing Malia. A naturally gentle and peaceful spirit, she is generally accepted and liked should anyone ever actually be lucky enough to have seen her amid her travels. While she is a peaceful spirit she will not hesitate to lift a blade in defense of justice. She has a strong love for what is true and right, and when something wishes to make wrong, it has to get through her first. A skilled warrior, and cunning strategist few have bested her in her true element of war. Speaking of element, it is unknown what she is due to the fact that she possess no elemental energy. No one seems to care about this however, and while most would consider this a disability in battle, it has little to no effect on hers.
It has been asked why she travels so. She has given but one answer. "I am searching. I have lost someone important to me, and I will find them no matter the distance."
And now to the pictures. Which I shall try and let speak for themselves as much as possible.

Back.

Better angel of the back; around the hair.

Weapons poses time. Starting with her trusty axe.

Her main weapon, a flail.

And the big guns, her scythe.

Size comparison with Kesef and Core Hunter. Kesef stands about a stud over an average inika build, so Malia is probably my tallest build yet. (Dad gummit fading light source.)

Size compare with just Core Hunter. Well... What's left of him. I kinda got blocked yesterday and scrapped him, rebuilding him like that.

Size compare with just Kesef. He's kinda short XD

Farewell!
Creator's Comments: Well, I must say I'm happy with how the build came out! :D This is definitely one of my favorite things I've built in a while.
This started as the weapons. (Not the scythe. That was a last minute blurp after it was finished, hence it's simplicity.) Seriously, that's all it was. And the plan to only use silver and Mata green as the color scheme. Then, well, about halfway through the legs it kinda spiraled out of control. This is the result.
I would like some honest and serious critique on this, (Not that I don't normally want that, I just don't think I normally get it.) so tell me what you like, what needs improving, any suggestions on how to improve her, etc. I would like to update her sometime soon, and keep her around, so any ideas on how to improve would be heartily appreciated.
That being said, I know the arms are simple. And the back under-armored (As is basically the entire torso but... :P) and I am working on that. Not quite sure how exactly to do that, but still...
Anyhoot, that's all. Carry on with your day as you so desire.

Well, I love the overall look, but there are a few things that bug me. That third nuva shoulder armor looks weird on her upper torso, I think you could have had another armor part there and look better. The arms could have used the nuva shoulder armor on the shoulders to make her better arms, maybe~. That head does feel incomplete, I think you should have given her a hood/cape to give her that more anonymous look you were trying for... Just some suggestions. other than that she is awsome!
Thank you for the suggestions! I did try to work the nuva armor onto the shoulders originally, but I never got it to look right. I can tell the third nuvaarmor is bugging people on the torso (it really doesn't look that bad in real life) so I am working on something else. I will think about the hood idea, but I probably won't do it. I never liked the capes and such on Bionicles. Don't know why, I just never did. Anyhoot, thanks again :) |

Very nice work, she's got a nice, bulky look that still retains femininity. Her arms are a bit thin for that look, but the rest of her works very well.
Thank you. I fixed the arms some, and I think they look better. I'll post an update sometime soon. |

You will have to wait for the pocket money feedback. I'm holding off commenting on any of them till after the 10th Jan when I start the task of judging - I do like it though.

Somehow I missed this excellent MOC. The spine arrangement is elegant and well executed. The array of weapons are very nice too.

Overall it is a very nice MOC. It is well armoured and well built. The one thing that bothers me though is the lower arms, and not for their simplicity. The armour peice just looks funny where it is. I would suggest moving it to the lower peg hole if it will fit over the ball joint and if not then it's fine. But again, great MOC. I look forward to the next one.
I tried that, but I preferred it on the upper one, as on the lower stud hole it looked too much like a gauntlet and limited mobility of the hands :| Thanks for the suggestion though! :) |

Those knee pads look wierd for me too, and that under-Nuva Shoulder... but I can't really find anything else that is bothering me. That Pohatu Nuva Claw hair is beautifful(so many uses for those :P)! And she has a scythe. Scythes are cool. Overall, you did some excellent work here Gale.

I think you have something here! Her hips and legs have a feminine shape. But I'm not wild about the knee pads in that position. Too puffy... I prefer them rotated! That hair design is a winner, but her breast armour is a smigen too high! Although I'm not a fan of using that head in that position, I do think it suits her character! Let's see... what else... colors.... I love them! :)
I see your points and I'll see about what I can do, thanks Topsy! :) |

Hmm... I... I actually don't like her very much. It's mainly due to her head, though: I never like those inverted Rahkshi head, but this is your first time using it and also it's something personal. The lower arms need some more work, but I think you already know it. The chest... It's not bad, but it looks... weird.... I mean, that third Nuva shoulder armor looks like she's pregnant or something. In the other hand, the rest is marvelous. The torso structure looks great, as far as the back shows me, and the hair is beautiful. The legs look very femenine and has a compact, well-armored design. And I think that's all about the MOC, the weapons are great, without being overcharged. To sum up: in my opinion, Malia has some fails in the armor, but great designs and structures, my dear Gale. I hope this was you wanted to hear. =)
Well, I can understand that. The head was as such because she was really intended for just being a humanoid form with no real story or whatever. I figured that the faceless look would help with that. However since that changed, I can see why it doesn't really look good. And I almost agree with the third nuva shoulder piece. I thought it might look like that, but it honestly doesn't look too bad in real life, so I kept it. Thank you for you opinions, and I'll see what I can do :) |

Wow! Great MOC! I love the arms, legs, and torso designs! I love that hair! I also like that you used pistons in her torso! You managed to armor her very well! One thing I don't like is the mask/ head. It doesn't seem to the MOC to me. You also armor the back a little more. Great job! :) Thanks Infernum. The pistons were more for stability than anything XD I can see your point there, and I will work on that.

I appreciate it when visually, I can tell a MOC's intended 'gender', WITHOUT over-exaggeration of certain... features, and STILL be clear on the MOCist's intent. It's a thing of subtlety, and I dig that. And it was possible here without seeing even the first three pics (before the hair (which I like very much)). Cheers on that, alone. More though; the upper thighs taper nicely, with good closure also, the weapons are very nicely styled and scaled to match her, as is coloring. All over, very, very fine work. CHEERS, Gale. :) Yeah, I didn't want to over exaggerate those certain qualities. That seems to be the habit of most feMOC and I wanted a more realistic humanoid appearance. Thanks Crowe! :)
