Paranoia Divert: Juunax
Even after the end, the unexpected is waiting.
About this creation
"One of their earlier mistakes, Baterra were created by the Great Beings in order to bring peace to Spherus Magna once and for all. However, they did that on a way they weren't searching for: an eternal peace, for the ones who wield any object which can be dangerous. Their spirit of destruction soon started to grown on their mechanical hearts, and soon the people on the planet, specially the Skrall, started to be surrounded by an aura of perpetual fear of being stalked.

However, that perpetual peace didn't always arrive for the target... Sometimes, the Baterra were the ones which were put to sleep forever.

After the Shattering, Spherus Magna split on three different planets. The worst of them, called Bara Magna, was an enormous desert in where live was a miracle more than in any other planet of the universe. A post-apocalyptic map where everything needed was scarce, and trash and danger were in each corner. Nobody knows how, but most of the Baterra kept themselves alive, without important damage... How did they repair they damages? How did they get their energy? Well, it's not the matter of this story...

Shapeshifted on a deep, lonely canyon of that world, a group of Baterra were watching, searching for dangerous targets. A day which was in the way to be a lost one turned to be their last one when a mysterious, floating being appeared. It could have been mistaken by a moth-like creature, but the Baterra aren't fools, and they saw something strange on it. The wings, glowing in a creepy lime color, were in fact very similar to those Skrall's blades... Well, it wouldn't be bad to destroy it and get sure about it, right?

Oh, how wrong were they.

They waited until the floating thing arrived where they were. In their minds, the claws were destroying the creature, opening and smashing it. But the thing stopped in midair, looking to one of the rocks. Something was wrong. That rock was one of them. How could that thing look through a Baterra's disguise?

They never discovered it. That thing attacked with high speed and agility, perforating the rock from the front to the back with its claw and killing the Baterra in the process. The rest of the team transformed to their default form and jumped towards the being... which was waiting for it. Everyone of them were destroyed, with their parts scattered or absorbed by that being. Except for two. One of them ran away in the middle on the battle, searching for more robotic allies. The other survived the carnage, was the last of the assassins. The floating thing got closed to it and raised the damaged body of the last Battera with one claw, while its three eyes were opening and closing, studying its opponent.

[Not new technology found. Damaged specimen. Not interesting at all./]

After that, the floating thing dropped the body and left. The survivor, damaged, crawled away, trying to escape from that strange being. New sensations started to overwhelm its mechanical brain. Sadness. Fear. Despair.

But, oh, my dears, an evolved brain is always an interesting object of study. Those kind of brains never stops evolving, and always in the most unexpected ways. Soon, the fear of the mechanical heart of that Baterra turned into less than trash evolved into hate. That hate kept it alive, trying to fix itself and turn back into once it was. It barely could do it, but it didn't give up. The desire of meet that being again became an obsession, a really powerful one, which even managed to feed their energetic needs... and, before it could realized... The Baterra fell in love with that being.

It couldn't be helped. Its desire of meeting the floating being again was present in its mind at every moment of the day, even while it was in its sleeping mode. The Baterra started taking any metallic part it found in the desert, where its hard to find everything, and soon it forgot its own mission and objective: ignoring the weapon wielders it found, the Baterra started rebuilding itself in the more similar way it could of its lover. Its shapeshifting abilities, damaged due to the encounter, were somekind of useful, but soon the Baterra forgot about them: why would it use them, if it only wanted to be like that special monster?

And one day, the Baterra found it again.

Desperate for new material for its reparations, the Baterra left the desert of Bara Magna and went into the dead body of the Matoran Universe. In the destroyed mechanic world, it could find any scrap it needed. And, while it was repairing one of its claws, the Baterra saw its floating love. Its glowing lime wings were moving it to the North. The Baterra stopped repairing itself and chased its target across the ruins of a near village. Then it stopped in front of it, with desiring eyes. The floating being stopped too, surprised for what was seeing. The Baterra took advantage of that, and it attacked with all its might, trying to impress its love. But it didn't work. The being dodged its attacks, trapped the Baterra and ripped off its arms without a doubt on its eyes. Then, it repeated the same words the Baterra heard on the past.

[Not new technology found. Damaged specimen. Not interesting at all./]

And then, it approached to the edge of the island, where the protodermis sea was replaced by an infinite void, and dropped the Baterra, which fell towards the darkness until nothing of it could be sensed. Then, the being left.

But the love's power is invincible, and the Baterra wasn't prepare to leave this world. It survived the impact. And, swaddled in the bittersweet hug of pain, it realized what its love wanted.

With its last strength, and the only remainder claw, the Baterra started crawling again, in order to search for the technology its love desired."

It wasn't very hard to find out after read the story, and even easier if you saw the main picture. Yup, this is my entry. A junk version of Sycarax! =3

Well, actually it's not even related with Sycarax... If you look at 'her' closely, it only shares the Mistika feet head and the eye. The rest of this MOC doesn't share any other designs from the AI.

Well, after that little explanation and the pictures of the front, side and back of the MOC, let's start to study it.

Feet. As a proper junkbot, left and right have different armoring, but the structure is almost the same.

The upper legs are simple, without armor.

Hands. The right one is the same of Sycarax' first version, but the left is a pincer.

Head. Same use of the Mistika feet seen on the AI, but the structure and detailing is more complex. The tubes close the feet so a Zamor-brain can be trapped.

Torso. Again, similar but different design for it. Also, it has more armor.

Back of the wing. It took me a while to get to that design with Bitil's Longswords.

Inside of the wing. I love this design, seriously.

Upper back of Juunax. That Rocka shield is supposed to be energy pannels.

Back of the legs.

Now some action pictures. While Juunax articulability is very good, her poseability isn't... 'She' has very bad balance.

However Juunax can hang off easily. You can see that the Zamor don't fall from the head.

Sneaking.

Oops!

There we go. Where were we...?

Hmm... I don't remember...

Oh, right! Juunax has some kind of 'alternate mode' that looks more than Sycarax.

Now Juunax really looks like a copy of Sycarax, right?

Hmm? What was that?

I don't know what happened but now 'she' is frightened. So cute... (Note to Terilis: Sidron mode activated!)

It seems that is better now.

Booh!

Next time Juunax will kick your ass!

And again!

WOW! You don't need to go so far! Well, I actually don't like very much the weapons, I mean, I don't think Juunax needs them, but arsenal counts for points so... Here you have the Long Distance Annihilation set!

A powerful laser here...

A mighty enenrgy cannon there...

Some mid-range shooters in the wings...

AND A OVERWHELMING NUCLEAR MISSILE IN THE BACK!! YEAH!!

Eh, dear, it's not time for a demonstrati...

FLASH! THERE IT GOES!!

Where it's going to land that enormeous projectile...?

It was obvious.

Ninja Carrot: What was obviOH SON OF A FRUIT!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!

Ejem... The whole arsenal.

A picture of the main pair of the story. Sycarax Nuva is pretty tall.

Love for everyone!!

Comparation with Dark Lianyu.
Dark Lianyu: What the... Sycarax has a girlfriend and I don't?

And a picture with Sehder, my mascot of The Inhabitants!

Sehder: Hey guys! How are you? You see, this is probably the last time you see me...

Sehder: Don't worry, it isn't like I'm going to be disassemble or something. But this is the last of the entries for the contest, so I don't have any reasons to pass by...

Sehder: So I want to say that I'm going to miss you guys andAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!

Time to end! Bye bye, everyone!

You won't believe the great amount of ideas I had for this round: Toa Sehder, a Sebulba-like thing, a random dragon-like alien, a vagabond old man... Bof. And I couldn't get anyone of them built due to the lack of parts! Or connections, or because the designs on my mind didn't fit the reality, those things. Well, at the end, while I was cursing about the great amount of gears I have while I was searching my last balljoint, the last idea crossed my mind. Junk-o-Sycarax! *^* Not only one of my favourite creations, this would allow me to make a lot of things I wanted for a long time ago: build a silver version of the A.I., use those irritating gears, try new desings I had on my mind... But I thought that wouldn't give me enough points, so I didn't even try... Ha. Ha.

The character, the story, the designs of that idea started to flood my mind no matter how! I tried to build other thing after seeing Chronos and Stryker's entries, but it was impossible. I NEEDED TO BUILD THIS. So, I did. It might not be as impressive as Vakhaiv or have the impressive post-apocalyptic look of Banjo Crisp, but Juunax really looks post-apocalyptic, and I'm very happy with my work in the 'Character' field: original look, interesting back story, form of behavior... I can say that I'm starting to fall in love with... her? xD Juunax is not female exactly... Like Sycarax isn't male exactly... Well, I like the idea of a female Juunax more than the male Juunax one.

Juunax's character is based around the yandere stereotype. These kinds of characters are usually the creepiest ones: their love is masked behind pain and destruction. They kill and torture everyone who tries to approach to the one they like, and sometimes, the paranoia is so important that they also want to kill the person they love, in order to avoid it to be stolen. Juunax's mind, although may look weird and hard to understand (a Baterra in love? L.A., what did you smoke?), it's actually pretty simple: she couldn't kill Sycarax, so now tries to complete her duty no matter how. She knows that someone with weapons is free, and she must stop it. So, she repairs herself, investigates about her target, and searches it in order to kill it. With a sweet touch of love.

First new MOC of the year, by the way. Well, guys, the last time I revised I was still on head, but this round can change everything (the following people in the ranking are very, very close to me!!) so please, wish me luck in the contest!! D=

L.A., away!

Quoting Max W. Wow. Now this here, ladies and gentlemen, if a perfect example of how different people interpret things entirely... differently. I built a Baterra with my friend a while back, and it turned out COMPLETELY differently. It's definitely interesting to see someone else build the same subject matter--makes going back and looking at yours a pretty interesting experience. Although, I could sorta tell that something coming from you was gonna look funky anyways, you being a master of the whimsical and odd. You definitely have your own flavor, that's for sure. My Baterra was more of a hulking bird creature, as I went by the logic that if something could become entirely invisible, why would it have been designed with (physical) steal in mind? Thus, a massive bird warrior with enormous feet and the biggest durn sword you've ever seen came into existence. Well, sorry this didn't win you a mask-definitely deserved it. See ya later! -Max *end wall of text*
Oh yeah, you didn't contain yourself in that comment right? I like when people writes this massive paragraphs to me! <3 The Baterra have a 'default mode' that every 'member of the species' share. However, since they have the ability of shapeshifting, they can took the form they want. And due to that, I think it's a shame that there are so very little amount of 'Baterra' MOCs, because there could be tons of different interpretations of these sweet killer robots. Also, as you said, looking about different interpretations of a same style of character can be very interesting and informative, and you can even learn some tricks from that. About my style... Unlike many MOCers, 1.- I don't disasseble my BIONICLE sets. 2.- I don't disassemble most of my creations. So, my lack of available parts made me to use the ones I have in the most imaginative ways, not only to cover gaps and get better designs but for made them special. That style evolved with the time and ended in MOCs like this little child! =) Talking about interpretations and styles, I would like to see some of your creations (specially the Baterra), but I donīt know why your images don't work for me... So may you send me a link for the next Bio-MOC you'll upload? Or a picture of the Baterra, if you have one. Thanks a lot for this, my dear.

Quoting Cody G Very cool build, it is nothing like anything I've seen before! Neat story, too! Kind of sad, yet kind of hopeful and even a little bit funny.
Haha, you may not find overwhelming MOCs here, but for sure the ones you'll see will have something original! Glad you like the story, and thanks for the comment =)
Quoting Darren .Y How did THIS not score well. This is sheer brilliance better than my mocs and that head is truly fascinating. The story is really interesting but I love it. I wish all the best for your future mocs.
I'm still upset for that. I don't know how to say it without sounding arrogant, but I'm pretty sure I deserve a better place on the ranking... Not first, but fourth or fifth at least... *sigh* Anyways, thanks the heavens there're other people that appreciate this, althought they can be a bit... exaggerated. xD This little girl isn't best than your MOCs! I find Xarox or Sicoran at least equally (if not better) than this Sycarax' copy! But I appreciate this a lot, my dear, thanks =)

Quoting Coconut Fanatic A Dalek is a villain from a show called Doctor Who. It's a great show.

I almost though this was going to go unnoticed xD Thanks for the comments everyone!
Quoting Chronos Omega Bloody bizarre backstory and very unique build. It's interesting that you'd make a Baterra (well, not really a Baterra at all, but that's just my perspective). You took a risk here but I think it might pay off. Good luck to you, L.A. (Oh by the way, a Toa form of Sehder would've been awesome. Just sayin'.)
If you realize, almost all of the entries are Matoran or Toa #Onu ones exactly#. I wanted to make a different character, with not only characteristic armor and look but even structure (while all the entries have humanoid look in someway, mine doesn't... And since the Baterra are shapeshifters, they can take the look of whatever they want). I don't know what Banjax wants for 'character', but, although the build isn't as impressive as yours, at least you have to agree that this little girl has that word written on her great forehead! xD (I know, but I only have an idea for the backpack, so I couldn't build it D=)
Quoting Pure Epicness Nice. I know this is off-topic, but did you ever notice that sehder's head looks vaguely like a spartan helmet from halo?
Didn't I say it on its page? No, I didn't. Yup, I noticed it... Two weeks later after build it <3
Quoting Renegade The Severe At first it seems a bunch of pieces, but it gradually becomes unpredictable amazing model. Such unusual mix of amasing stucture deserves top marks
That's what I want this MOC to look. After all, it's like a real damaged robot on the post-apocalypsis would look, right? Thanks for the comment, dear, these words mean a lot from you =)
Quoting Gale Winthrope Terilis is right, it is a thing of beauty. The story and the MOC together make this perfect :)
Thanks, I'm starting to like Juunax more than Sycarax! xD

Quoting Overlord Galaxus (Instant Noodles) That's awesome! Love the head, body and wings! Great arsenal too!
You're back! And commenting on one of my creations! The arsenal could be better, in my opinion, but I made it only for winning points so... Thanks for the opinion! =D
Quoting Coconut Fanatic A Baterra? In love? That's brilliant. Though I find it as likely to happen as a Dalek doing the same, it is possible. Anything is. The whole junk-bot portrayal works perfectly, and I like the bric-a-brac assortment of nonsensical machinery. Wait- what did I just say? ...Strange. The weapons could have had a better connection point, the ones on her legs anyway, they stick out a bit. Everything else, is marvelous. Thing of beauty, right here. I don't quite get the alt. mode...
Jaja, the best comment here! xD I'm glad you like her. I don't actually like the weaponry very much, except the missile and the laser, but I only liked the last one for Juunax. However, althought I agree with you, I like the idea of put the weapons on the knees: not only because her brain doesn't work very well, but she doens't another other points to put them. And the alternate mode was a joke, when I put Juunax on that pose I realized she looked like a Sidron bird thing xD P.S: What is a Dalek?
Quoting Kyle Garton first comment! L.A., you never cease to amaze me. your mocs always have Some sort of "personality" that just ties the whole thing together! well done.
You, my dear partner, have made the better description of my style, ever. Thanks a lot! ^^
