MarsCorp Hornet Helifighter
The MarsCorp Hornet Helifighter. To steal the time-honored name Helifighter means this aircraft must be very special to replace the old variant of the Helicarrier. This bird took over as primary fighter aircraft following the ICF's use of jet strike fighters.
About this creation

These are the main guns. This model has an additional 20mm cannon mounted in the nose cowling.

The engines have a good amount of armor on the top and bottom which also creates an open space around the engine itself, thus serving as a cooling tunnel. The large props give the aircraft a thrust/lift ration better than 1/1. The wings are pushed back to the center of gravity to balance the aircraft. The cockpit is large and is equipped with rocket ejection seats.

Under the wing you can see two removable missile mounts, the wingtip sidewinder mounting, the lower engine armor, heavier than the top and the landing gear. Also note the skinny mounting point for the wing, but we will get to that later.

The aircraft has an inverted-V horizontal stabilizer and a twin parallel rudder on two separate booms extending past the end of the fuselage.

The inside of the cockpit has a large instrument panel, radar screen and targeting computer. You can also see the pilotís throttle and joystick by his hands.

You may have guessed by now but this is why this aircraft earns the name HeliFighter. The HeliFighter variant of the Helicarrier served well during the early days of the ICF conflict but was quickly phased out following the ICFís use of jet fighters giving rise to the Hornet HeliFigter.

This is the picture most ICF pilots donít want to find themselves in. You are staring down the holographic gunsight. I was too lazy to superimpose an enemy aircraft in the crosshairs for you.

The poor fellow off to the left is probably fumbling with the EJECT lever at the moment as a sidewinder missile closes in on his tail.

This little guy is awesome. Love the forward swept wings and the twin V tails. Looks unbelievably maneuverable and absolutely fun. Great job!

Thanks for all the likes. This build was a personal favorite of mine to do. I do notice that the final action shot needs to be bigger. YOu ahve to zoom in on it to truely apreciate what I did there; I hope you like that shot 'cause positioning the model just right was a b**ch to do. P.S. Time to go upload another build.
