was built around 2011 Christmas to lift a tree. I've ran out of playtime after the upperstructure was done. The undercarriage was built for an excavator.
About this creation
The counterweight rotates very well, 8x old wheels were the best of all versions I've tested.

Features:

- it works: can lift, rotate and walk with 2kg load and superlift. It can raise itself easily in any setup (SWSL is about 20 mins)
- independent undercarriage
- 5 winches
- "standard" rollers
- superlift
- jib (not seen here)
- counterweight can be steered manually
- (tries-to-be)compact upperstucture

Numbers:

- weights about 2kgs + booms (about 300g/section)
- 6ch remote
- 4 manual functions (counterweight steering, 2 winch selectors, pneumatic pump and switch for A-frame)
- 2M motors+AAA pack in the undercarriage
- rotation: M, jib: M, A-frame/superlift: XL, mainhook/aux: XL + AA pack in the upperstructure
- 2.2kg concrete + 300g coins as counterweights
- maximum tested lift: 4.5kg (R=15cm, 2 sections height)
- maximum tested height: 180 cm (R=45cm, 3+2 sections SWSL, 250g)
- 3 sections + 4.5kg load made the crane unstable, 2 sections worked nicely
- 3+2 sections + 550g load seemed very dangerous

Design flaws:

- suspended undercarriage is unsuitable for a crawler crane
- quick and dirty mast, jib and head
- was too unstable and flimsy to lift the christmas tree
