Heyyo! This is my entry for The Middle Earth Lego Olympics. I’m super excited to be a part of this, because LOTR has always been a huge love of mine. Thanks to the judges for hosting this! Here’s hoping I make it to the next round!
About this creation
One thing I ask myself when I build for contests is: What are my strengths? I not only try to build according to my skills, but more importantly, to my pieces. I don't really have time or money to spend on bricklink orders, so I plan (and often improvise) with what I've got. Well, I have a lot of animals, food, foliage... a farm! But not just anyone's farm, but Farmer Maggot himself! In the movies he's portrayed as being pretty young. (he's the guy that the ringwraith interrogates when it first come to the Shire. "There's no Baggins 'round here, they’re all up in Hobbiton.") I've always imagined him as an old guy, however, so that's how I built him.
Here’s ya’ll’s link Ian!
I wll have more commentary and pictures later, but this is about the 7th time I've tried to upload this thing, so here it is!! XP

I love the build! Great combination of book and film. I like that you added Grip, Fang, and Wolf. The pig pen is nice and the flower-leftover pieces as slop is a great idea; mine always went to the trash when I was a kid. I love the field with the two grand trees; the crops look great and I love the scarecrow. Great build and good luck! |

Awesome! The details like the cobwebs and the inside of the house, and the fields! All of the 'shrooms and taters are awesome! I do think I like the book version better where Mrs.Maggot gives them the mushrooms. :) |

This is awesome! I really like the scarecrow, with a scarecrow, haha! I also like the growing plants and the nice use of the Lego element that attaches to the Lego flowers for the pig food! Great job with the sides of the building! Nice touch with the spiderwebs inside the house on the roof! Great work! |
