Perseus and Andromeda
The myth of Perseus and Andromeda, a quick vignette and entry for the 300 Members Contest, from the group ABS Forever.
About this creation

My entry for the ABS Forever 300 Member's Contest.

And Perseus was flying home from his victory in the far east when he spied a scene below him. A giant sea monster was travelling toward a tiny figure chained to a rather large rock. Flying down for a closer look he discovered Andromeda, who had been chained to the rock in sacrifice to the sea monster Poseidon had sent in response to the Queen's arrogance. The queen had said that Andromeda was more beautiful than the Nereids, the nymphs of the sea. Poseidon had sent the monster to terrorize the town until the king sacrificed his daughter and appeased the Gods.

Perseus, bearing the helm of Hades, was invisible and managed to slay the monster and free Andromeda. The town celebrated, and he married the damsel in distress, as in all good stories.

Here you guys go, another quick creation, as I am currently swamped with life. But mostly schoolwork, as I am graduating this year, and we're coming down to the wire.

Here are some of the Details. I like the way the rotting head cam out. About time I got to use my grey heads correctly!

Arial view, in case you guys wanted to see the situation from a different angle. =D

Parting shot.

4th Wall:

This was a quick creation I threw together, but I would have liked to have improved somethings. Due to a lack of 1x1 trans studs, I decided to throw some stalks into the mix and call the water a swamp. the idea is that there is a lot of seaweed, algae, rotting dead things, and more in the water. So it is a murky swamp, not a clear blue sea.

Since some have asked, to make Perseus' winged sandals, I attached two minifig hands on either side of one handle of a BrickArms U-Clip, which slips into the bottom of the legs very nicely.

But, to paraphrase a well-know character, that's all, folks!

Very nice! The monster is great and I like the swampy water! I made a Hermes minifigure, and the technique I used for his winged sandals was this: take a 1X1 tile with a horizontal c clip, and attach white flame pieces for feathers. Put the tile on the bottom of the fig's feet, and you're done!

Quoting A Sargent Great job! I'll say good luck, but this is much better than mine. It's between you and me, I think! I believe we're the only ones who entered in time. I bet you'll win! 5/5!
Thanks, Sarge. ;) I think it is only you and me. Well, I wish you the best of luck as well.

Very nice! The water is surprisingly effective, it reminds me of the Sargasso sea. The gritty and dark design of the whole scene works great, and the serpent's quite cool.

Thanks, guys. One BA U-clip holds the hands together, and it slips right into the holes on the bottom of his feet. :D

Amazing work! The choice to make it into a swamp worked fantastically; the water looks awesome and matches the dark feel of the scene very well. Great sea monster design, and I too am wondering how those hands stick to his feet. An ingenius build!

Nice job on the sea monster. How did you get those minifig hands to stick to Perseus's feet?
