Over ten years of building Transformers with LEGO bricks. Here a short look back into the process of building real transformable lego versions of the famous characters.
About this creation
I'm building Transformers with lego bricks since late 2000 and over all these years i've done dozens of versions of each characters. Here i present what i did between 2003 and 2007. You might have seen most of them already, here i want to give the former versions of the models a recap and a place to be viewed.
Before i get to Bumblee or Optimus Prime, let's have a look on some of my very first Transformers models,
Soundwave & Blaster
Obviously very basic in design, shape colors and part usage - it gives them a nice 80s touch. A model where my early building techniques didn't work out as nicely was
challenges me ever since i was a child and i did roughly two dozend version of him so far, here are my favourite eraly ones. The 8 wide and the 12 wide version.
Another fun thing was 1:1 scale FRENZY of the Movie. He is completely made of Bionicle. This fits the style and my feelings toward the new movie designs very good..
Under the vast amount of Bumblebee versions, there are a few funny ones, like this compromise "movie vs G1" - idea and the transformable recap of the official LEGO 10187 Beetle model
Is one of the most iconic Decepticons and shouldn't miss in any transformers collection. This lego version is about 30cm in vehicle and 40cm in robot mode. Transformation and color is as close as possible to the first Starscream Takara Masterpiece.
