Shadow Aivren
My entry to the Self-MOC off Tournament. I'm hoping this is enough to get me through to the first round XD
About this creation
Welp. Our challenge was to build the polar opposite of our self-MOC. I, kinda did....

Sorry about the poor quality photos. It was just not my day.

Link to the contest.

There's a nice picture of him in all his epicness.

Now, to the story! Which, while I know it won't really be counted in the judging, I felt the need to write :P

Aivren shook his head.
That was weird... Never doing this again... he chuckled to himself knowing he would in fact have to do this many more times in the future.
Aivren turned and looked over at the orange being that sat a few feet away atop a moss covered log. He looked into the beings green eyes trying to see what his reaction was.
"I'm guessing it worked?" Aivren asked his brother, Esh.
The orange being nodded.
"Worked like a charm. You should see yourself." Esh laughed.
Aivren stood to his feet, a challenge given that he was not yet used to his new body, and walked over to the edge of the lake; dropping to his knees on the lush green grass when he arrived at its shore.
"Bless Elohm... It did work! Ha!" Aivren laughed as he looked at his reflection. His rather ugly reflection.
Instead of the lime green clad warrior he was used to seeing in his reflection, he saw instead a black and purple monster whose skull bore no mask and who wore long black spikes on his spine.
"Incredible..." Aivren muttered as he reached up and felt his face.
"Huh?" he stopped and looked down at his right hand.
"Esh... It's still mutated..." Airven said turning to look up at his brother.
Esh nodded.
"The damage was done. Even a transformation such as this could not change that." Esh said solemnly.
Aivren nodded in acceptance. He would make good of this somehow.
Aivren's arm had been mutated when capturing the shadow being they had used to alter his appearance. Elohm assured him that he would be able to go back to his previous form when his mission was done, but for now, this is what he would have to be.
It'll help me sell my cover I guess. he thought to himself.
After having gotten the details of Morvain's unusual arrival in the Garden, Esh and Aivren set out to find how he had come. Guided by Morvain they found a cavern that housed many portals to other lands. After this discovery, Elohm spoke to them, telling them that there were others whom Elohm would call to arrive from the portals, instead of his normal Calling every ten years. Elohm also said that Esh and Aivren would need to find them, and bring them safely back to the Garden, so that what had happened to Morvain would not happen again. After this, Elohm gave each Esh and Aivren their assignments, and instructed them on how to find them.
Thus what had brought about Aivren's need for this disguise. Aivren was assigned to get someone inside the Brotherhood of Makuta, (if he was remembering what the group was called correctly) and bring them back to the Garden. This however, would not be very easy to achieve. He would need to infiltrate the group and convince them to come with him. They also had to come willingly or they would become shadow beings upon entering the Garden, which meant that he couldn't just sneak into the fortress that they were currently hiding in, and drag them out kicking and screaming.
Aivren had no idea how he was going to do this. Not the slightest clue. But, Elohm had told him what to do, and he would be there to help him if needed, and that was good enough.
"Here." Esh said to Aivren, handing him an impressively sized spear.
As Aivren took the spear from his brother's hands two jewels near the tip began to shine with a green glow.
"What?!" Aivren said surprised.
"Good." Esh said.
Aivren turned to look at his brother in surprise.
"That spear now houses your air powers. In your current form you cannot use them. With this, you can." Esh said with his usual matter-of-fact tone.
Aivren nodded and spun the spear a few times in his hands, getting used to the weight.
"I hate using weapons." Aivren muttered under his breath.
"I know. But you are not yet used to your new body, and you will need your air powers some time. For now, you will have to keep it."
Aivren rolled his eyes at his brother's lecture. He knew that. He just felt like complaining.
"Are you ready?" Esh asked.
Aivren could've sworn he sensed a hint of worry in his brother's usually emotionless voice. He nodded cautiously, searching his brother's steeled eyes.
"Alright. Good luck Brother. And be careful." Esh said.
Aivren nodded again. "And you too. May Elohm guide us home."
After shaking his brother's hand Airven left out the North Gate and trekked across the Fields towards the Black Forest, and beyond to the cavern of portals.

Surprisingly short for my norm. Eh, oh well.

Onward!!

I'm really going to try and shut up until the end of the post, but just know that I really love how this came out :D

Leg detail.

Torso.

Right arm.

Left arm.

His pretty face.

Height comparison with Malia. He's a tall bugger.

Height comparison with Kesef (who is as tall as the original Aivren was XD). He is still short XD

Creator's Comments: Yeah! I love this guy. I think it came out much better than I was originally planning. (I wasn't planning much, gotta tell ya. he stared about four studs shorter and not nearly as monster looking.)
This started, believe it or not, as Esh. Then, I actually tried looking at a color wheel, (haven't seen one since kindergarten. If then.) and saw that purple lie across from lime green. Well, after two minutes of a maniacal grin being plastered on my face, and the remaining time of listening to my teachers drone on about finals this week, I got to work. I scrapped the ugly Esh thing I had assembled, and began with the feet. I originally had started with only one skull as the foot, but it was too small. So, I switched it to two and hey presto, it looked pretty good. From there I built up the legs.
I would like to mention, before I forget, that the use of the tohunga foot (assuming I spelled that right.) was inspired by Banjax. I'm too lazy to link to where I saw him use it, but I do acknowledge that it belongs to him :P
After the legs came the torso. Oh that torso >:| It is really just a beefed up version of the torso of my old Altered One believe it or not. I love the versatility of that design lol. The torso is also incredibly posable, though I didn't show it all that well. The spikes on the back were my favorite part in this because they just look so dang epic.
The arms came last, as evidenced by their simplicity. I still think they look good though.
The right hand design was also inspired by Alex-Darkrai on DA. I had to use those stupid purple kraatas somehow :P
The spear was an afterthought. It is simple, but I liked it, so I kept it.
I'm pretty sure that's all I have to say today. Congrats if you lived through reading all of that.

Thanks for viewing, Tschuess alle :)

Quoting Coconut Fanatic Forgot to comment on the Moc Pages post :P Definite favorite part, the right arm. Epic use of those Kraata.
Thanks Terilis :) As I said above though, I can't take credit for the use of the Kraatas. It is pretty epic though lol.

Quoting Tom Elert Wow, really nice, i love the use of the piraka skulls and the hf pieces on the legs. I really like the way you used the "bugs" as fingers, they must fall off all the time right? :D. Also the back is cool, the with doctor spikes are well used here. Once again this is a MOC that shows, that we should use parts for everything and every part can have a use somewhere else than it was intended.
Thanks. And actually, no. They don't fall off. Quite the opposite in fact, as they didn't want to come off at all when I disassembled him XD

Quoting David Alexander Smith Saw this yesterday, but was caught up posting all those CSPC comments. I like the satyr feel to him, a real Dionysus. The purple and black work well with the white head. You really are on a building roll at the moment.
Lol, thank you. I hope I'm on a roll, and that it keeps up XD

Quoting Callan Lord of Fire Wow, such a great entry already! I'm looking forward to seeing how this round'll turn out! If I had to nitpick, I'd say the pure white head is a bit out there, but maybe it's just me who's never been a huge fan of mask-less faces. Keep it up! :D
Umm, wow, thanks :) I'm not too much a fan of the head either, but after a while, it came down to this head, or having a headless body. You can tell which one I went with XD

Quoting L.A. Miranda Wow, you're very inspired recently, right? Your MOCs keep evolving to more and more epicness without stop! Although the amount of Technic/BIONICLE/HF purple parts has grown on these years, it's still very hard to make a proper MOC using purple. And you manage to get it. This guy is... Is... Awesome gets short. The legs have a pretty cool design and is well-covered; I specially love the feet and the lower parts. The torso is also amazing, but rather than the spikes I prefer the design using those Mata arms on purple, the Rahkshi head and that HF armor. The arms are also great (BTW, in the left arm is a gap you can easyly cover with a black pin), I love the hand with the purple Kraata (I always wanted one D=), and the weapon looks beautiful. This is probably one of your most amazing MOCs in design and look, my dear Gale! But, let me say something bad, only a minor thing... I know you have to build the polar opposite of your self-MOC, but... This version doesn't resemble at all to Aivren! =P Well, good luck! (P.S: I'm not very sure if I get it correctly, but nice story too! Will you post Elohm someday?)
Thanks L.A.! I'm glad you like it and think I seem to be getting better. I was happy with how those technic liftarms worked out, I'm glad someone else did too. The HF armor and Rahkshi head combo was another favorite part of mine. And, I'm aware of the gap in the arm, I just never got around to fixing it XP I was also worried that it doesn't look a thing like Aivren XD But, I was hoping the story could explain that away XP If you don't fully get the story, maybe looking back at Morvain's story might help? Just a thought. And I'm not too sure yet if I'll build Elohm, I guess we'll see in the future? Thanks again :)
