Brick Noir
About this creation
I've been watching some old 1940's crime films and got inspired.
I was originally going to make this an ongoing story, but figured I'd get bored with the theme too fast.... I may get to it at some point, as I really like the story I thought up, maybe set it in a different time period.

It was to be the tale of Evelyn O'Ryan, the crime fighting Irish psychopath. Told in a non linear Tarantino like way.
Hey, I was really inspired.

Movie poster version.
A kiss on her lips...

I like this one. My pops used to insist on watching old black and white flicks of yesteryear when I was a child. This reminds me of those movies airing while I was on the floor playing with my Legos.

Well done Ru, and perfect choice of minifig. I think I actually like the color version better because of that pop of color from the bright red door.

The epic light shining through the window and the darker tan highlights in the floor make this one for me. Fantastic work! As a story-writer myself, I must say the idea looks great! I look forward to whatever you can come up with for it :)

Quoting Thoy Bradley Well I've been waiting for you to emerge from what seems like a small 'break-from-the-brick'. This is brilliant Ru! I real feel the olden style setting with this scene, while some may say the techniques are simple (as I am often critiqued), simple is always the hardest to make look effective. A very well done execution! ~Thoy
Thanks Thoy! I'm definitely back now, I just needed some inspiration.

Quoting Grant W. Tell me, have u seen the mr. motto movies with peter Lorre? They are excellent! If u have not I suggest u try them :D if u do like them u should watch the wong movies with borris karlof next :D
Ok, so far I've only seen The Maltese Falcon, Laura, and The Big Sleep, but I'm gonna watch some more for sure! I'll definitely check out all of the ones you've listed!

Oh yeah! Awesome detailing. I actually hadn't even noticed the puddle until i saw others comment on it. I noticed the 'brick-work' first, that looks very realistic. All in all an excellent build, very nice work :-)

She sounds like a great Character Noir! Oh, yes... we would like to hear more! As for that building... well... those tiles really give it a period taste. They remind me of old subway tiles! Nice! :)

Quoting Mr. Xenomurphy 1. So good to see you're back building. --- 2. The story of Evelyn O'Ryan sounds too interesting not to tell it. --- 3. There are more splendid details in this MOC than meets the eye. The puddle for example is a nice touch. A black & white picture with long, black shadows would be a perfect addition to the main pic. Maybe you want to give it a try.
Thank you so much Xeno! I intend to make the story happen one way or another, possibly in webcomic form... I added the black and white photo too, thanks for the idea!

Quoting Ian Spacek Ru posted something! *applause* Fantastic job on this mate! I really like the use of all those plates and tiles. It definitely makes for a realistic look! And the mini-fig is excellent too. That hat works great. Still getting my mind around the crime fighting psych0path though...heh, heh.
Thanks Ian! Hopefully I'll be building regularly again.

There are several things I like about this. The puddle is really cool, and I like what you did with the technic 1x2s in the walls. The curtains on the inside of the door are also very cool. Nice work building in an uncommon genre too.
