New York Central J-1 Hudson Work In Progress-3
Well Happy New Year to all! Ive had this sitting around for a while and I just recently did a bit of work on it. It still needs decals and a bunch of little fixes here and there.
About this creation

One part of this I am very proud of is the sliding roof vents. They took a bit of fiddling to figure out originally. Still not completely happy with the design but Lego wont really allow what I want.

This was my first purchase of BBB wheels and I am VERY satisfied. The locomotive actually fell a few times in the early building stages and the wheels were completely fine afterwards. Regrettably there arent any O-Ring grooves. Although a normal O-Scale traction tire seems to work beautifully.

I shortened the nose by one stud. It is a fairly tight fit for the pilot wheels but it manages.

Bare Cab.

A very Model-ish feel to the battery cover. Comes off in one big piece to access the battery and receiver.

Thanks for viewing.

Quoting Nick Jackson How is it speed & strength wise? It looks hefty
It was heavy. Not so good with pulling power, and one of the reasons why it is no more.

This is great so far. The details plus the power functions have been combined well, I can't wait to see it finished!

Quoting TF Twitch I personally have no problem with studded designs, but I know that personally I strive for studless since it does make the overall build much cleaner. Studless seems to be the new thing that is in, so that is probably why people always comment about that. This locomotive is still great, and do not let anyone else tell you differently.
Dont worry I wont. I honestly dont care much for what people say anymore. Its a habit Ive drilled out of me.

Quoting Cody G Apart from the few tiles that are missing, this thing is great!
Actually most of the studs will not be tiled in the final version. I find tiles usually make parts too thick on trains, as with most anything. I may redesign it to use other parts to allow tiles but probably not.
