About this creation

This space truck is dedicated to Nils Kettunen, designer of my all time favourite set, 6894. I played many hours, days with that enthralling build and I'm glad it had influence on my aesthetical development. Thanks to Bjarne Tveskov for the info.

Features

-openable cockpit

-a wannabe R2-D5 droid (i don't have it) for my son's joy :)

-two steered axle

-sound signs automatically when vehicle is ready to go after docking is completed

-headlights turn on automatically at the same time

- modular build, disconnecting is helped by gears

-openable cargo pod (by gears) containing a droid (and its two tools) and an openable roofed surveillance/laboratory space

-electric generator unit, a simulated generator under an openable door

-radar dishes are rotating automatically when vehicle moves, control panel for radar under an openable door.

Thank you for your attention, i hope you like it.

Hi granada turnier, I am Nils Kettunen and proud that you dedicate your excellent “Blacktron Brutus” to me, in honor of the old 6894 ! Together with Bjarne Tveskov I designed of some of the Blacktron models, way back in the 80'ties. I'm glad you like the model 6894. (I don't remember the models name) It nearly didn’t went to production cause there was some stability problems on the original model. The hinge on the container lid was not too secure, but I couldn’t make a satisfactory solution without totally change the smooth look on the container, and the overall slim look of the craft. With a little improvement (and a little talk about design ; ) it finally went through the model committee. The Blacktron series is one of my favorites. They still look cool. And your "Blacktron Brutus" fits well into this design and could easily have been a released model, had you been on the design team back then. I like the compact and solid look of the vehicle, and all the details and functions. Well done!

Thank you - and thanks to Nils Kettunen once again.
Quoting David Roberts So many things about this are just "right" for it to have come from the original Lego range of products. The removable centre section is just what Lego would have included in a model of this size. I love how the whole front section hinges up to allow lots of play.

wow, it's nearly my refused cuusoo-project! I suggested a contest in a random classic theme(maybe like pocket money contest) in every two year and they would announce two winner from all over the world. It would fit more for lonely warriors than cuusoo, which is a playground for bigger subcultural communities, and where quantity rules over quality. Ambassadors would be members of the jury, to increase the value of their title. Yes, you steer 2 axles, I should make a video. Thank you!
Quoting Night Reaper This is quite the MOC! While I have never actually had a blacktron set, I have studied them. In my opinion Lego should bring back blacktron and other classic themes and combine them to make an epic collectors series. I'm rambling aren't I? Sorry about that. I like the chunkiness of this build, it gives it a very masculine look. And you say it's a 4x4? Preposterously amazing!

Let me know what your current project is. But hey, build them both, and we can enjoy two of your new works at the s ame time :) Thank you for the nice comment!
Quoting David Alexander Smith Totally knock out. The split is great with the detachable section. So chunky and powerful looking. This is the best compliment I can give: makes me want to break up my current project so I can go stick some technic wheels on something grey like this. Fantastic.
