About this creation
All pilots to their vipers.

As a BIG thank you to Stephan Schumann http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/348678 for allowing me to build his LDD of the MII Colonial Viper.

I have created this rather large section of a launch tube rather than a launch rail like I built before for my Ralph McQuarrie Concept Viper.

So this Launch Tube has been scaled to the Viper which is currently waiting for all the elements that are on order. I have built the Viper from all of my elements that I already have.

The Dimentions are as follows
1300mm long X 640mm wide and 440 mm high
51.57 inches long X 25.19 inches wide X 17.32 inches high

And very heavy.

For the marvels of added effects I used a string of outside LED garden lights in all of the illuminated areas. When I first placed another brand I had laying around I was not happy with the results so I used a much brighter set of lights and without the added fun of lengthy exposures the outcome that you see would not have been so fantastic.

The views are only shown from the opening for now. Other views will be taken after the viper has been completed so it will more of a surprise for all to see including me.

I hope to soon have the MII colonial Viper up and posted. As anyone may know the waiting for parcels to arrive via post can seem like an eternity 2, 3, 4, 12 weeks is an eternity at times.

I did a test shooting a week ago and was thrilled with the results and sent them to someone who would appreciate the images and as an extra ego trip he thought the images were of a image from the movie. Then at that time I knew I had a winner. “ Thanks Bart”

Thank you for looking .

A HAPPY AND BRILLIANT NEW YEARS BUILDING TO ALL FOR 2013.
GARRY.

Quoting Stephan Schumann I am curious, if you designed the middle-slit extra for the anchor I designed?
You caught me out. I built the anchor you designed but I did not use it. I must say I would have made the under belly images harder to photograph with it poking out and fixed. However I did construct the landing gear.

Quoting Jesse Long Wow, Garry, now this is some SERIOUS attention to detail to your ship! This is easily one of the best launch areas that I have ever seen on any LEGO fan site! While I am not a BG purist/elitist for either the old school or new school series, I do love attention to detail and I would also love it if you could branch out with other space genres like Star Wars, Halo, Alien, or some other science fiction book series or even some unique creations of your own. You certainly have the talent for it and I would love to see a fresh new face in original space craft construction. Keep up the good work, sir.
WOW Jesse !!!! What overwhelming praise. So far I am concentrating on BSG universe including my vision even if others do not approve of the way I built it. Right or wrong everyone has their own special and unique adaptations and vision. When I achieve my ultimate goal I will begin on a different theme. Thank you again for your comment. Please keep your creations coming.

Quoting Jon B Spectacular! I feel your pain re. waiting for deliveries - but it'll be worth it I think. The lighting and overall atmosphere is perfect - I like how Tim described its dormancy. This is certainly a sleeping giant awaiting its viper - looking forward to seeing some launch shots!
Oh boy Jon. Now you got me thinking of building a section of the outer hull where the viper emerges from launching. Hope i have enough elements for the task without hacking into my next Battlewagon and Basestar. I hope soon to complete this build. Keep up your amazing builds.

Quoting Tim C I would say that you are a master of the repeated element, but I could go on for paragraphs describing all of which you are a master. I love this work partially because of its dormancy. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to see that Viper in there, I just like seeing this as it is, because it kind of gives the feel of what a pilot would see before takeoff. The light bricks are a brilliant touch. It adds a real appeal to the overall build. The details are, as always, astounding. Hopefully, you don't have to wait long for those Bricklink orders. Can't wait to see the finished product.
WOW Tim that was nice to read. You hit the nail on the head for the type of imagery and effect this set of photos was to represent. With lengthy exposures during the evening made all the difference and in some scenes a low-lux torch brightened up the tube to give it a more dynamic effect. While I wait I have built another Viper but slightly different. Many more weeks for the elements to arrive. MMMM Have to continue on the next Basestar.....
