A mosaic of the famous 1945 photograph from Iwo Jima.
About this creation




This is a mosaic I did based on the famous Pulitzer Prize winning photograph of U.S. Marines landing at Iwo Jima. The photo, taken in 1945 by Associated Press photographer Joe Rosenthal, is one of the most iconic symbols of patriotism, sacrifice and heroism.

I recreated it on a standard 48 stud by 48 stud baseplate with both bricks and plates (you can see the varying topography in the second picture). I added color to mine, whereas the original photograph is black and white.
