I've officially been on MOCpages for a year now!!!!
About this creation
I am a little late in posting this because of the recent MOCpages blackout. It started on my real MOCversary (January 28). I have really enjoyed my first year on MOCpages and I have greatly improved my building skills from learning from what other people have built and trying to branch out and try more things.
My first MOC I posted:
Sleigh Ride: Posted February 21. I didn't have any new creations to post at the time so I posted a lot of old ones from middle and high school, this one just happened to be the first on I posted.
My first MOC to get a comment:
Norwegian Sun: Paul Wellington commented on this on March 21, making him the very first person to comment on one of my creations. Thank you Paul! This is one of my favorite MOCs even though I built it in sixth grade because I really like the way it turned out.
My top five MOCs
1985 Super Mario, 21 likes.
My LEGO Collection, 20 likes (why people like this better than my actual creations, I don't know). This is what my LEGO collection looked like until recently when I sorted all of my LEGO pieces by part over Christmas Break.
Trick or Treat, 19 likes (one of my personal favorites)
1985 Goomba, 16 likes
Number 5 (three MOCs tied with 15 likes each)
A Castle Overlooking A River. The first MOC I built with my sorted LEGO pieces. This is one of my most detailed and complex MOCs so far so it is one of my favorites.
A House in the Suburbs (one of my favorites even though it was built in rainbow).
Green Bird. This was built only using pieces from the 2003 Designer Set, Wild Collection.
Being on this website inspired me to make my first Sigfig, a Jedi
Different Techniques I have tried my hand at over the past year
Microplane (one of my favorites even though it is so simple)
Mini Beach House (this was my first attempt at SNOT, but it wasn't very good)
Searching for a Bank Robber Vignette (this wasn't very good either; it only got one like)
Last summer I found some old pictures of MOCs from elementary school that I thought I'd put on here. I had to scan them onto my computer because they weren't digital. These show how much my building skills have improved over the years.
City, I used to build LEGO cities all of the time, this is just one that I happened to take a picture of. I built this when I was 10.
These are random things I built when I was eight. I used to build strange things when I was a kid because I mostly only had specialty pieces and not normal bricks.
A Two-Headed Nui-Jaga I built when I was ten. This one is actually not half bad.
Some more of my favorite creations I've posted in the past year
Ice Cream and Candy Shop
My original Washington State University Logo on a 36x36 baseplate
My improved Washington State University Logo on a 48x48 baseplate (I built this soon after I bought my 48x48 baseplate and it is now my buddy icon). Can you see the hidden message in the WSU logo?
Over the past year I have had a few achievements on MOCpages
I have been featured on the homepage under Popular Today 12 times, the first time being in July.
My first creation to be featured on the homepage, 1985 Super Mario
One day I even got two creations on the homepage, My LEGO Minifigure Collection and My LEGO Animal Collection. I'm not sure how that happened.
GO COUGS!!!!!!! (My WSU Logo on the homepage)
This is my most recent creation to be featured on the homepage, Toa Tahu Nuva
I have also been the busy builder of the week twice
The first group I joined was Star Wars LEGO Creations and I joined the TFOL Private Club and eXtreme TFOLs soon after. Since then I have joined many other great groups and met many different people.
Thank you to Alex B who was the first person to add me as a favorite on MOCpages. Also thank you to everyone who have commented on and liked my creations in the past year and everyone who has helped me by answering my various questions about sorting, Bricklink, and other things in the groups I'm in.
Thank you all for a great year on MOCpages!!!! I have really enjoyed it and look forward to many years to come. This is my 78th post on MOCpages by the way.
I am also really looking forward to three things that are going to take place this year:
June- high school graduation
July- my 18th birthday when I officially become an AFFOL
