STAR WARS : RISING SHADOWS
Episode 1 - Omen

Coruscant, business district, 9:00 p.m....

Athorus Odain, a boy of nine, lived with his father, Artemis on the city-planet Coruscant. His father was a tinker and ran the shop across the street from their apartment building. Neither rich nor poor, Artemis raised his son to know a life of few possessions and hard work. Athorus did, however, have a handheld video game system and was lounging on the couch playing a game where large reptiles chased tourists through an island resort when a knock came at the door.

"Master, do you think the tinker will acquiesce to defeat?"
"He may surrender and he may not. Be mindful of the force, my young padawan. His feelings may reveal his intentions."

"Blast! Jedi! Remind me to thank the Hutts for this two-way door."

"Athorus, hide yourself! And keep quiet! Calm and silent. R2, get in the back room and erase all backup files on the hard drive. I want no paper trail; nothing."

"Yes, father. I shan't be known."

And so Athorus crouched in the storage compartment, silent as a shadow.

"What mindless Gundark is calling at this time of night - Jedi Knights! I'm so sorry, can I help you?"
"I hope you will. You are Artemis Odain. You and any family you have are wanted for questioning."

"As you can see, I live alone; for what am I wanted and by whom?"

"Do not feign ignorance. You are wanted for treason against the Republic. Your records show that you have had dealings with the Hutt clan, a known smuggler's organization and thereby are condemned a traitor. Deny these claims, if it pleases you, but do so to the court. You are hereby under arrest; do you yield?"

"I do not deny these claims...but I fear you have cornered the wrong snake, Jedi."

Athorus wished he could see what was going on outside the compartment...

...and suddenly he could. He had never had this ability before, though now it felt second nature.

"For the viper strikes fast!"

His movement seeming instantaneous, Artemis dashed across the room blindingly fast and thrust his lightsaber through the younger Jedi.

Simultaneously, he force-pushed the elder Knight into the corner.

The crackling red blade supported the padawan for a second or two before freeing itself, the Jedi falling to the floor unmoving.

It was almost too fast to follow but Athorus watched every movement. He had never known his father was a Jedi! No he thought. Not a Jedi... something more than a Jedi... what was the word? Sith? Does that make me a Sith?

Artemis turned to face his opponent but the Jedi Knight had already closed the distance, his face screwed up in fury at the loss of his padawan.

NO! Athorus screamed in his mind, determined to stay silent. Calm... and silent... It can't end this way...

It won't end this way he silently vowed.
"Master Livedd, this is Silen Tarl... Odain was more prepared than we thought... It seems he was a Sith Knight... No, master; there is no mistaking it. Artemis struck down young Opalind before I... I... I'm sorry, master; I could not take him alive. I'm sending for a Peace Trooper to retrieve the bodies."

But when they returned...

Jedi Master Silen Taril noticed that his padawan's lightsaber was missing.

Someone had been here while he was gone, though he left for only a few moments. "So Odain DID have a son. Captain, search the apartment but be on your guard; he may still be here."

"Master Jedi, Sir, there's nothing in the back room but an old astromech droid - "

"OOF!!!" the peace trooper gasped as he was thrown into the table with a sickening crunch.

CRASH!!! The glass shattered as Athorus leaped through the window from the balcony and ran down the wall, lightsaber in hand.

"The viper strikes fast!"

TO BE CONTINUED...

Episode 2

Okay, so this took a REALLY long time to upload; I had to keep going back and updating the MOC because the uploader kept acting up. I hope you guys enjoyed episode 1 of STAR WARS : RISING SHADOWS as much as I enjoyed building it. Episode 2 - Revenge will be up in a couple days, though the episodes might not be so frequent afterwards as I need to build new vigs to advance the story.

"Search your feelings..."

Quoting Beardless Dwarf Excellent! I can't wait to see what happens next. And it seems that running down walls is a habit for Athorus hmmm?
Thanks! Yup; it's his preferred method of ambush. People look left, right, and down but never up. Athorus is very physically fit and his best attributes are his speed, agility, flexibility, and cunning so he uses his environment to his advantage in any situation. Thanks again! I'm glad you like it :)
