In the heart of the Botanical Gardens, Poison Ivy has just finished her latest diabolical scheme; The Ultimate Plant Monster! Will Batman be able to stop her from overriding Gotham City with here ferocious beast?
About this creation
This is my entry for the The Contest Group 2-Week Challenge 3: Design a Lego Set.
BEWARE OF THE VILLAINOUS CREATURE!

White background.....

...Greenish background.

Batman and his gadgets. We have two Batarangs, one shooting Grappling hook, and a pair of rotating shredders that cut through vines like nothing!

Poison Ivy with her accessories that she can make on a fly (literally and figuratively).

A wall of various poisonous plants.

The rock/wall/ruin feature with vines growing up it.

Look! It has a "play function!" It falls over when you push the knob. :)

Back of the rock/wall/ruin feature.

The place where Poison Ivy sits upon her beast.

See those ball joints? That is how the creature is able to do......

This! (see the 2 below pictures)

CHOMP CHOMP!

Here is how that is done.

Now we have a (sorta) 360 view shots :)

Here we have the underside of the creature.

To help keep balance we have______

For the final picture, we have the creature once more.

FNJ's build comments:
This build was quite the unique one! I got the initial idea to build this from the Lego Batman video games. However, this is MUCH different then the one on the games. This one is balanced, is a lot bigger, and has other features that are different than the ones in the games. The things I wanted this build to have is that it would be balanced, look big and menacing while looking plant-like, have the tentacles attached well, have an awesome chomping function, be able to tilt its head forward while chomping. I also wanted to get an awesome chomping while moving its whole head downwards. If your wondering, the reason why the monster has two tan tentacles, that is because I ran out of the lime green ones. I played around with photo editing a bit more than usual for the first two pictures.
Thanks for looking, God bless!

Wow! I wanted to read the comments to see what everyone was thinking, and they all really like it. This is a good sign. I have no idea what the ones look like in the game, but this beast looks cool nevertheless. On to the scoring! Theme: Existing and Liscensed, but very popular, so I say 4/5. Build: Definetly has a feel of a set, and the building methods are very good, so I give an 8/10. Originality/Creativity: Not only does it give kids a character who was hard to get (Poison Ivy was in both versions of the big Asylm sets, not fair!) but then also relates it to a thing from a popular video game of Lego's. It also gives some other playable functions and an array of weapons for Batman. 8/10 Well done, a total score of 21/25! |

Ah, I remember this, it's from LEGO Batman 1 one right? Awesome game. I have never played the second one though. Is it good?
I love the second game! You can go anywhere! Yeah, the creature was inspired by the ones in the game. |

David, I think this is one of your best builds yet! The creature and his jaw are my favorites, and the falling wall is a great detail! The editing is really awesome too >.>
Yeah, that's what I was thinking as well! I knew that something else had to be added to the set, so I thought a falling wall would be cool! |

Awesome build David! The huge plant beast is amazing!
Thanks Timothy! Yeah, I've always wanted to build one of these. Except, I knew that the one in the game would be unbalanced, so I made it bigger, better, and balanced! |

Wow! This should be a LEGO set! Put it on CUUSOO! I'll support it ;) did you use GIMP for the main pic?
Thanks Tom! I always wanted a set like this, so the contest gave me a good excuse to pull it off :D Cuusoo only allows creations if someone is 18 or older :( I actually used Windows Photo Gallery...I have to read the manual for Gimp in order to fully understand it. However, the letters for the main photo were added with Gimp. :D I'm glad you enjoyed it! |
